Duke Nukem's vest type?

Postby Kefka » Sun Nov 07, 2010 2:20 am

New costume, since it will be the big ticket item this year due to the announcement of Duke Nukem: Forever.

Obviously, it will be the ole' Duke. Bleaching the hair, cutting it short, and extra steroid boost!

However, I am having trouble identifying his tac-"vest", whether or not it's an actual style or just a cartoony rendition of one. A commercial of the PS1 game "Land of the Babes" has a man dressed as one, and you can glimpse at his loadout in the first few seconds. Link here:

Otherwise, an image of the "Manhattan Project" cover:

Thank you all for the help and inspiration.

He has a WW2 style cartridge belt with a large, custom belt buckle and a pair of shotgun suspenders.

You'll probably have to custom make it, because something like that is not very practical so not really made.

Suspenders like that could easily be made from a set of Fallschirmjager suspenders:

and then just get a regular WW2 - Vietnam era duty belt and put the additional pouches from the top onto the sides, then get some straps sewn on for those 40mm grenades.

Those pouches look similar to double M1911 magazine ALICE pouches, just black.
