Recommendations for new goggles?

Postby Mr. Technicality » Thu Jul 08, 2010 3:07 am

I've been using Arena FlakJaks for a few months now, and they just don't fit right. They restrict airflow through my nose, and leave a gap unprotected at the bridge of my nose. I wear them with a MICH 2000 replica. Knowing this, does anyone have any recommendations for new goggles? I have a mountable fan and plenty of defog spray, so my only concern is fit.

If not a recommendation for a specific model of goggle, perhaps a recommendation for where to shop for goggles anywhere in the Puget Sound area?

If nobody wants to contradict you, I guess that's what I'll get. Looks like a nice pair of goggles from a reputable brand at a very friendly price. If nobody says any different by tonight, I'll go ahead and order them. Anything special I should know about the lens? I assume that dish soap and moondog defog won't hurt it?

I'll toss in ESS goggles. I love mine.

Expensive, but rated to stop a 12ga shotgun at 35ft. The rest of your face will be upsidedown up, but your eyes will be just fine.

those goggles that jester posted seem pretty over kill. But i guess you can't be so safe. I have a different style bolle goggle and they're great.

That's odd, I didn't even see Nasty's post until just now. I'm looking for lenses. Right now I'm leaning toward the ESS that Jester linked. They look more comfortable and better ventilated than the Bolle T-800. And it looks like I'll more easily be able to attach my fan to those should I need to. They're around what I was expecting to pay for good goggles.

Hit up a surplus store, you'll find those ESS's cheap. I think mine were $5-$10 total. Replacement lenses are like $20-$30 IIRC. I got mine with the smoke lenses, which suck for indoors (where I use mine), so I switched to clear lenses.

And Airsoft750, when you could be shot from litterally point blank, you want the best eye protection you can get.

I've got both the ESS land goggles and the Bolle t-800's. I prefer the bolle's because they're not as big and clunky as the ESS are. They also breathe just fine as there's a gap between the lense and the rubber seal, small enough as to not allow a BB in.

My lense of choice however is the ESS ICE. Love those things.
