Those aren't stingers.
They are Russian made SA-7's.

Sorry for the necro, but I've used this site: http://zarinas.com/ to get my clothes from. Pretty cheap too. I picked up shirt, pants, and vest for $57.

There is no necro on this, i am hoping this gets a sticky, so future events that call for a real Mujahideen loadouts people have a decent guide to go by. its stil being edited, and added too.

To do a proper Afghan National Army loadout, just get mismatched BDU's and tennis shoes + a green beret (comical felt green, not dark SF green).

So basically half of Oregon already has that look sans beret.

How to wear a shemagh
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, a shemagh is prononunced [she-mah] the g is silent :mrgreen:
In farsi, the name for a shemagh or a peice of cloth wrapped around your head for non religic purposes is called a Khuffiyah [Khoo-Fi-Yah]

STEP 1
Fold the shemagh into a triangle. Wrap it around the back and over the top of your head, with the folded edge across your forehead, making sure that about two-thirds of the material is on your left. The right end ought to be long enough to come to your chest.

STEP 2
Use your left hand to pinch the shemagh about 3 or 4 inches from the folded edge and let the edge hang forward

STEP 3
Let go of the right end. Using your left hand, hold the edge of the shemagh next to your left cheek and hold it near your left cheekbone. After you do this, use your right hand to pull the left end of the shemagh across your face, over your nose.

STEP 4
Continue to wrap the shemagh around your face and head until you get it back over your left shoulder. Grip the right tail and hold it to keep from pulling the shemagh off your head as you wrap. Work your hands down toward the ends as you wrap.

STEP 5
Pull the shemagh as tight as needed to feel comfortable. At the end of the process, take both ends and, somewhere near your right temple, tie them in a knot. A square knot will secure the shemagh adequately.

Also, you forgot to include the Type 56 Yes its basically the same as any other AK, but the US did provide them to the Mujahideen during the Soviet occupation, so its period accurate should you want to do a load out based on that time period.

So thanks to this thread, I am going to start working on an OPFOR/Taliban fighter loadout.

So, I've got all the weapon and gear stuff down, but where can I get those Afghan robes?

Check with Dan ( Darius) [ in addition to Pickles] he is really into the culture ( speaks some of the languages). He has gotten us a bunch of different clothing and knows a ton of sources.
