They are down to four finalist companies, which are each producing three schemes, and an optional fourth for OCIE (gear). They will have everyone in a transitional pattern (high desert, similar to Multicam), with an additional desert and forest/jungle pattern. The gear will work with all three.
The four finalists are Kryptek, Brookwood, ADS Inc / Guy Cramer, and Crye.
Kryptek looks like snowboarder camouflage, and is popular with hunters. Brookwood looks like watercolors, and I haven't heard much from them. It looks a lot like San Marco camouflage from Italy in WW2. ADS Inc has a generic digital set, with larger pixels and fading added, and Crye will most likely produce a 3-pattern Multicam-esque set.
The Army has decided on a pattern, as PEO has sent the winner to the brass. Those in command are sitting on the decision due to budget cuts and whatnot.
There is a petition to force them to pick a pattern publically, here:

We're not going to see Multicam going anywhere anytime soon.

There's no real set pattern to when something is in fashion or not.
Jewish Ninja wrote:I'd get a CPC if you plan on carrying a decent amount of stuff. A fully loaded JPC looks silly and defeats the point of the thing. It's not really meant for carrying around a shit ton of gear.
They won't be switching PCs anytime soon. CPCs will probably hang around for a while. Shit, they still use the MBAV (EPC) and that thing is more used than "someone's" mom.
