This has gone seriously off topic.
Matt nailed it, you need to carry two primary things in your tac-vest: magazines and water. Plan your loadout accordingly.
Personally I carry water two different ways. I either use a camelback type carrier, in the summer filled with 50/50 gatorade/water; or I carry a bunch of .5L water bottles spread out in my gear (in mag pouches, dump pouches, utility pouches, you get the idea).
During the hottest part of the day under the kind of exertion you can expect from airsoft, you NEED to drink .75-1L of water an hour and you need to replace electrolytes and fuel as well. If you aren't pissing clear, you aren't drinking enough.
Dehydration doesn't necessarily hit you like a lead balloon. You aren't running along A-OK and then suddenly get a notifier on your HUD that you need to drink some gatorade.
Early signs of dehydration:
-Haven't pissed in more than an hour (byproducts of exercise need to be flushed out through your kidneys)
-Loss of motivation,concentration, aggression
Signs of dehydration:
dizziness, numbness in mouth
Dry or sticky mouth
Low or no urine output
very dark colored, concentrated urine
Not producing tears
Weakness
Every summer game I've been to I've seen players not taking care of their physical needs and becoming attrition. They lose their motivation and go home early or they genuinely become a heat casualty and need first aid. With the high turnover in airsoft, and the pool of new players not usually being the athletic type, we will always see this kind of disregard for something as simple as drinking enough water.
