I'm just starting to outfit myself with gear. Made my first purchase yesterday, new boots to replace my 1998 Rocky Tactical Boots. I think I am in love. I bought a pair of Wolverine black Gore-Tex boots, and I could hardly believe they fit my 6E whale paddle feet. They are snug in all the right places without being uncomfortable. I haven't read any reviews on on these boots, and they are Chinese so who knows how long they will last, but by God they fit! And comfortable too, so I thought I'd make a post about it in case anyone has the same boot shopping issue as I do, as I can't go to a typical shoe store and buy anything off the rack that fits properly. After going to everyplace a normal person would go to buy boots, I hit the footwear jackpot at Al's Shoes & Boots on SE 82nd in Portland. I'll give a blister report as soon as I develop any. So far (1 day), awesomeness. I do not work for Al's or Wolverine. In fact, I'm out of work right now so give me a job.
