Good GBB SMG in the 200 dollar price range.

I want a good GBB SMG that ISN'T KWA (so I can use propane) and is in the 200 dollar price range.

You can use propane in KWAs.

Here's your problem: You want a good GBB gun that isn't a KWA.

Less jokingly, most sub $200 SMG/Auto gas guns (no counting the G&G GBB) are very cheaply built. The Galaxy MP5K, and other similar models tend to have low performance, leaky mags, excessive cool-down, and other issues that plague gas guns.

If you have specific models you've found, I can share my experience on those more directly. As far as the G&G GBB M4s go, I'll know more on that in a few weeks when they actually come out.

Hamster is correct that propane will work fine in a KWA. KWA doesn't warranty them with propane, but you have two options. 1) Test fire the gun, make sure it works, then use propane. Accept that, in the rare case of a failure, you may need to pay for a part to get it fixed. 2) Use Green Gas until the warranty expires. Then use propane.

KWA's can use propane just fine, I've never used Green Gas in my MP7 and haven't had a single issue. Just keep everything clean and lubricated.

Also the MP7 after discount code will cost you about $220 shipped with 2 magazines, something to consider.

Its odd because I have seen threads on the KWA forums regarding propane with the NS2 system, and employees say that A) it voids the warranty and B) it doesn't work. I know KWA is awesome, there's just no where for me to get green gas. And I'm all out.

Propane does void the warranty and that's about it for KWA's. Unless KWA invented a magical gas valve it has no way of telling what gas your using. Propane works just fine in them, but propane is a "dry" propellant so you must keep your mag and pistol lubed extra well.

If you use propane, just add lubrication to your tank/adapter junction every 5 or 6 magazine fills. You'll have no problems, other than the similarly aforementioned warranty voiding issues.

On the Galaxy MP5K issue: Do not buy one. Unless you have 10 magazines, and about $100 to fix all those magazines once you get them (because they ALL leak) then steer clear. They are great fun, but totally non-skirmishable. Go for a KWA MP9. They are amazing. Stay away from the cheaper replicas, as they are plagued by poor-quality magazines, even when they are well put together.

I'll vouch for the MP7 as well. It's a great gun, nice kick (If 4.6 even has a kick), and it's build quality is great. The only gripe that I have is the price of the magazines, and the quality of them. The gas seal rubber on mine doesn't always allow the bolt to go all the way forward, so I have to pull out the magazine and re do it. Also, the springs are really finicky when you release them to load the BBs.

Treat them well, and they're going to work really well.

I'd recomend a M93R if want a GBB SMG. It's compact and has multiple fire functions.
Could of edited my post but did it for the post count.

KWA claims that there are additives in Propane (that aren't present in Green Gas) that can cause build up and have the capabilities to deteriorate plastic. Though at the same time they don't have actual test results or anything of the sort. They've just noticed a lot of people with problems that have sent in their guns for service, were propane users. The downside is that KWA is the only brand who says this, which makes people believe that Propane is okay for every other brand, but KWA is susceptible to damage from it, which isn't the case. They're just the only one who claims that it can damage your gun.

I think some of the issues people have with Propane is that they either don't use any silicone which can dry out seals or they use too much which will swell buckings. I honestly never use silicone in my propane, I just lubricate the o-rings and seals from time to time with silicone and run straight propane when actually firing.

The only time I actually use silicone in my propane is when I add gas to a magazine for storage, I add a little then.

To add to this, they will still repair your gbb if you use propane in it, but you have to pay for it (as others here have already said, propane "voids" their warranty).

So if you really care about the warranty, use green gas for a month and a half, then go ahead and use propane. It won't make any difference after that.

Another positive word for the KWA MP7. I picked up mine off eBay for $360 shipped with 8 mags. I've run it at a few games as a primary with no problems. Also used it with the CQC bolt indoors to good effect, though I do need to clean the barrel.

I'd use .28s or higher in the MP7 as the hop-up doesn't adjust far enough down to use anything lighter. I've been able to hit a man sized target with them at 140~ feet.

Noob question: Should I use spray silicone or a drop bottle?
I've heard some people say that spray isn't good for your gun and/or doesn't work well.

Drop bottle. The sprays may contain impurities that can damage senstive components.

Alright, thanks. :D I'll have to pick some up. Do you think I'd be able to use real steel gun lubricant? We have a lot of it, so that would be nice.
