Postby Gator » Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:31 pm

After hearing mixed reviews and such about The WE desert warrior 1911 series of GBB pistols, I would like to know the truth, People in my community to tell me what they really are. Ive been considering buying one, If i do, What should i be cautious of? Should i take any extra steps for maintenence?

The first step is to buy a KWA.

WE pistols in general are crap. Don't buy one. Save the extra $50 and buy a KWA.

They break alot. Get a KWA 1911. Much better. My 2 cents.

Then either get a different KWA pistol, or wait until January. Remember to have patience young grasshopper. ;)

Ran a WE 1911 with 6 magazines for a year. CQB and outdoor. Only had to replace the barrel bushing twice. The WE will suffice...

WE will work fine if you can maintain them properly. They are good guns to learn on if you haven't had a GBB before. Don't buy them new though. They aren't worth the cost. Used is the way to go for WE.

But if you can get a KWA, do it. They are fathoms better than WE.

Yeah ive never had a "real" GBB to use at an OP.
Quotations because ive had a Co2 P.O.S. that sounds like its from star trek and shoots 6 bbs at a time.

WE's need constant replacing with both internal and external parts. I've owned 2 hicapas and I settled with KJW since their internals are slightly better. KJW 1911 tactical will work with your 1911 serpa holster and has the double stacked hicapa 30rd mags.
WE's are made out of terrible pot metal and are very prone to cracking slides (which has happened to me). my friends who use their WE 1911s have trouble getting a full mag out before running out of gas. I'm not a huge fan of KWA's proprietary stuff, but I own a KWA Glock 19 and absolutely love it. I'm gonna say get a KJW (if you want the high upgradeability with TM compatible parts) or a KWA if you never want to open up the gun (except for basic cleaning of course)

I WILL say that a KWA mag can get out about 3 entire mags before running out of gas, which means that during the winter you will never have to worry about hearing a loud PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH in the middle of a firefight

If you can wait and save money, go for the KWA. Their 1911's are great from what I've heard.

If you don't give a shit like honey badger, get the WE. I have a 5.1 hicapa dragon 7 inch becuase I'm like honey badger, fool.

Allthough what angers me is the price of mags... I rage quit when I lost my first one.

Well you could consider me fairly new to airsoft. (As in playing at events and such)
And i figured it could be a guinea pig to me. Being that GBB's seem easier to upgrade and such i figured itd be a good place to start.

Cool story bro.

As far as problems go...... the entire gun is the problem. My WE 1911 had too many problems to list. 3 out of 4 of my mags had leaking issues after 3 months. Yes, I properly store the mags with just enough gas to hold the pressure on the o ring so it wasn't user error that caused problems. Saving $50 more to get the KWA 1911 is smarter than paying to fix all of the parts that will most likely break in the WE. That will also be more expensive to replace parts, and pay shipping. Thinking long term about how your replica will perform should be on your mind instead of "I need a pistol NOW." Like I said before, "Patience young grasshopper." :)

Depends on what the thing is. Generally if something in a GBB pistol breaks, you must replace it with a brand new part. There is no real "fixing" to do besides installing the new part.
