KWA KMP9 Magazine Feeding problems

Purchased these at AONW. I am having trouble with feeding problems. I'm not talking about the gun, or the chamber, gun completely cycles, the problem is just the magazine. It seems that the BBs get lodged with little or no pressure even with the follower fully compressed inside the magazine. In the picture below you can see that the BBs are lodged side by side, and it's quite baffling seeing as how they should be staggered? It also seems that the lip in one of the magazines was completely torn off in the machining process, still meaning to contact them to see what I can do...

My question is, what can I do to fix this problem? I'd hate to replace them seeing as how I have already tried to use them. The finish on the magazine is transferring onto the BBs, I might have to replace the inner barrel now... Should I take a wire brush and remove the finish on the inside of the magazine? Any suggestions relevant would be greatly appreciated.

that is strange, none of mine do that. how many mags do you have, just the one? if you have more than one, are they all doing it?

I have a total of THREE magazines and are all giving me issues. You can see on the second that the BBs are getting lodged in the middle just by free falling and with the follower locked. It seems that the BBs in the third magazine are more staggered, however they do get stuck. How good is the QC on these guys?

i haven't noticed their QC to be bad at all. we haven't had anyone that im aware of bring mags back to the store with this issue.

aren't you deployed somewhere, or were recently deployed? could they be the 5.5mm BBs that are somewhat more common in europe?

KWA being as good as they are with support, i would get on their support page and ask about it. make sure to provide that first picture, it demonstrates pretty well what the issue is.

My friend had similar problems with a Hicapa mag. The problem was the finish on it was super un even on the inside, which would cause the BBs to slightly impale them selves(best way I can put it). Have you noticed any BBs with any indents or anything after they get stuck?

There are a lot of lacerations and it looks as if the finish is transferring onto the BBs. Which is why I might have to replace the inner barrel, as it may have messed that up as well. What did your friend do as far as fix this problem?

He completely took the mag apart and used a media blaster to remove all the finish. He did already have the set up, so it was pretty easy for him. I would say fine grit sand paper should be able to do the same job with a bit more elbow grease.

Try valve lapping compound ( auto stores) this may give you the desired smoothness you require

Kmp9 mags indeed require regular cleaning to operate properly, but before you spend a good bit of time and effort tearing them apart try cleaning them with q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Pull down the spring and lock into place. then Slightly wet the q-tips with the alcohol and then just jam them into the long opening, and then dry the left over alcohol with more clean q-tips.

Also, you need to make sure the bbs are staggered properly all the way down. If they stack at any point leaving an opening you'll have a very high chance of jamming the mag.
