KWA M9PTP Magazine filling.

Postby Icepick » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:20 am

Whenever I go to fill my magazine, everything functions fine and the magazine holds gas perfectly... But it seems to never get full, I don't try and fill the magazine for too long because it will obviously become a safetey hazard. (I'm holding everything vertically. And I am using silicone oil as often as needed, etc.)

So does the magazine just hold a lot more gas than usual? And why isn't the gas expelling like it is supposed to when full?

kwa mags are designed to have up to three (on a good day) mags off one fill. so the capacity of gas that your putting isnt enough. i advise you not to fill the mags too much because the first 2-3 shots will be like 360- 400 fps.

3-5 seconds should fill the magazine. If there is an O-ring in the fill valve (which I'm sure it does) than gas SHOULDN'T spill out at any time. During filling, put your ear up to the propane tank and listen. You'll hear the gas moving, and eventually quiet down. That's how you know it's full.

Thanks Jester, I tried putting my ear up to the tank and it did take about 3-5 seconds. I was able to dry-fire about 50 times before it ran low on gas and got too cold... I guess I'm just used to most GBBs cases where when full, the gas expels out the fill valve.

That will happen when there isn't an o-ring in the fill valve.

Gotcha, is it common for the o-rings to fall out? Because it even says on the propane adaptor instructions that gas will expel when the magazine is full. :?

it depends on the maker of the magazine. some of them put it there, some don't. also, are you using a fresh can of gas? if your can is getting empty, it wont put as much pressure in it.

also also, almost all GBB mags have safety features so you cant overfill it. once its at capacity, its done. it wont burst in your hand from too much gas, its going to release pressure out of a safety valve before that happens, and i've never actually seen it happen.
