KWA 1911 MK4 Holster options

Postby shakespeare » Thu Feb 10, 2011 6:22 pm

I am in the process of acquiring a KWA MK4 1911 PTP (Got acronyms?)
Anyways, I want to get a nice hard plastic dropleg holster for it-a Safariland or Blackhawk SERPA. However, it has a rail, and ambidextrous safety. All the holsters I am finding on USCav just say 1911, and do not specify if it will fit a railed or nonrailed. How do I figure out what one to get?

Blackhawk SERPA's come in a "tactical" 1911 model. I accidentaly bought a "tactical" holster for a smooth lower 1911, so I know they make them.

When I run any of my KWA Mark pistols, I use a 5.11 blade tech revolution holster on a SERPA thigh platform.

Any of those pistols with the rail accessory fit like a glove.

Perhaps a useful suggestion.

My KWA Mk IV does not fully lock into my Level 2 Serpa holster. If you can, try before you buy.

Goto Safariland's website and check the will fit list. Its kinda hard to understand for 1911's since so many people make them. I'd first decide on what light you plan on using (if any) and then find the holster you want.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the clone M3 won't fit. I remember Nasty saying something about his 226 not fitting with his clone M3.

All of the 1911 SERPAs from AONW will fit the railed model.

A light shouldn't be a problem for me, as if I needed to use a light with a pistol, I would rather have a light in my off hand.

Also, how qualitative are the AONW holsters?

Qualitative? The real Blackhawk Serpa's they carry are nice, but the real ones they only stock in the paddle mount option.

The drop leg replicas are pretty good. The finish is good, and the fit is pretty snug.

I just got a safariland 6004 w/m3 light for my KWA 1911.

I LOVE IT!

Light fits perfectly.
