barrel extentions for pistols

Postby Mongrol » Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:37 pm

hey guys i was wondering if there was a barrel extension on the market that doesnt need to be screwed on to a threaded barrel. I have the KWA M9 PTP and for looks purposes i would like to get a silencer for it. I was thinking i could thread it myself but figured id see if there's something else i can do.

Thanks

anything else is going to be a cheap-ass deal that's held on with set screws and will fall off. the barrel is $36, a suppressor is maybe another $40.

seriously, don't get the cheap universal $20 suppressors. they look retarded, they don't fit well, and they don't stay on the gun. you already paid over $150 for the pistol, don't skimp on the parts. its a dis-service to the replica.

That barrel won't work: "Please note: It will not work with KWA PTP series."

As far as I know, there are no other threaded outer barrels for the m9 ptp. A suppressor would just weigh down the slide and add unneeded weight on the rails anyways.

wow!

suppressors are connected to the BARREL, not the slide.

Sorry, wasn't thinking when I said that. What I meant was the barrel is a slider type that hangs plastic rails on a metal portion of the frame. If you introduce a weighted front, it would drag and degrade the rails. At a certain point, the locking block will stop functioning because the barrel is too deformed.

PTP pistols do not have replacement barrels for them. They are plastic so they cycle faster, and don't use as much gas.

You could potentially thread one yourself if you wanted to, but you'd need to get the right die (14mm + or -, or 16mm +).

well i like the idea of it but it does say it wont work with PTP series. Probably just end up threading it myself. Thanks.

huh guess i missed that part.

also, the slide catching is not an issue on berettas as the barrel is fixed. it doesn't cam like other autos so you don't have the problem of weighing it down and pinching the action.
