AP, I just bought a KWA M9 PTP and I'm having a problem

Postby Neo Elve » Tue Dec 14, 2010 8:08 pm

So, I recently bought a KWA M9 PTP. It feels great and shoots great; that is when it decides to work.

I bought TSD propane adapter, silicon oil and some propane to gas up the mag. Most of the time when I attempt to fill it no gas goes into the mag and instead it's spraying out of the adapter/fill hole. When it does decide to fill, it only lasts for about 12 shots out the apparent 25.

Any suggestions AP?

Try using green gas, to make sure it's the propane adapter that's the problem.

You're holding the bottle above the mag, yes?
You're pressing strait down into the fill valve, yes?
If you answered no to either of these questions, that's probably your problem.

I have a PTP and the main issue with limited shots is when the mag is to cold. Try tucking the mag under your waist line/belt. Yeah it'll be cold but when it's not cold try filling the mag and see how many shots you get.

Also filling the mags can be weird. I use this adapter and it works great everytime.

The mag have a real wide hole to fill and you have to make sure the smaller tips go straight into the hole. If you look closely at the intake it is actually slanted and not parallel with the bottom of the mag, so with the smaller adapter, gas can escape if the tip isn't in straight.

Add: You should be able to get up to around 36 max cycles with the gas reservoir filled. At temperature.

So I tried warming up the mag and I get some shots but I still don't get a full mag's worth.

Now it seems when I'm filling the mag the gas isn't actually going into the mag. It just sprays out of the overflow adapter in the propane adapter.

Temperature is a major issue with gas but I have warmed my mags to much that they haven't accepted any gas what so ever.

Did you try changing the angle at which the nozzle goes into the mag as it is spraying gas out? I can typically make the gas stop spewing out by moving it around a bit.

The container of propane could be low. If it's not a fuller bottle there won't be as much pressure to fill the mag with. I had this issue and went out and got a new bottle and filled the mag all the way.

The overflow adapter?

Well there's your problem, propane adapters dont have an "overflow adapter".
How about you tell us what kind of propane adapter you are using?

I just got this gun, I'm using a madbull propane adapter. It requires a bit of force to get gas to go into the mag, took me a while to figure out. Do it with vigor.

It's not the best but thats why when you buy and adapter it comes with a bottle labeled GBB oil. Your suppose to put it on the top of the tank to help prevent damage and keep the seals from cracking.
