KWA Glock Slide Problem

Postby Super Soldat » Thu Dec 09, 2010 6:16 pm

I've had my KWA Glock 17 for somewhere over a year now, and since about last March, I've kept a threaded outer barrel in the gun, with a mock suppressor attached. I've only had very few problems with it, most of which were easily fixed, but now I can't seem to fix the current problem, which is that: I tried using the original, non-threaded outer barrel in the gun, but when I put it in, the slide will lock, and refuse to move at all, except to push it forward to remove it. I tried it again multiple times switching between the barrels, and examining what was happening, and with the threaded barrel, it works perfectly every time, but the original barrel will only work if I pull the recoil spring guide down a bit, but after a few times of the slide moving back, and forth, it will fall back out of place, and become stuck again, or so it seems to me. It's not so much that I need to use the original outer barrel, as I don't particularly, but I would like to make sure that if for some reason I did need to, this would not happen. Has anyone here had this problem, or does anyone atleast know of a solution to it?

My glock had the same problem. After disassembling it my slide would lock and I couldn't pull back the slide and had difficulty pushing it forward to take it back off. Check to make sure the spring---

make sure that isn't jammed or out of position. The problem I had was that the back of the spring kept slipping down and jamming on the lower part of the glock whenever I tried to cock it. Let me know if this helps.

ALSO, LUBE.

That might just be my problem, but how exactly would I fix it if it was out of position? I have been able to move it back to a way where it will move freely like it is supposed to, but then it will just lock up again.

Where the guidespring engages the barrel, there are two different slots, if you reassemble it wrong, it will jam up the slide. It puts the guide in a bind and as the slide attempts to go back into battery it puts increasing force on the guide. ( just like a RS Glock)

That, I know; I learned that after the first disassembly. The problem is, though, that after the slide is already on, the guide seems to be falling out of place. I just spent the last 30 minutes, or so trying to figure out why it's doing that, but I'm not having any luck.

sorry, without being able to look at it I am at a loss to diagnose it.

I'm not sure if this would help at all, but I took a few pictures:

As you can see, it works fine with the threaded barrel.

However, with the regular barrel, it won't move anywhere past that. As you may also be able to tell, there seems to be something keeping it from going all the way forward.

Those 2 images show the slide with both barrels.

An update on the problem:
As of yesterday, the problem had seemed to have fixed itself, and everything was working as it should, but while shooting earlier today the slide locked itself up. Before, when the original barrel was on, I could still disassemble the gun, however it now can only move about an inch forward, or 1/8 inch backward. On another note, the trigger is stuck back. I have a few pictures I could show if anybody thinks they might be able to use them, to help me. If I can't find a way to fix it myself, I'll be taking it in to get fixed in a week, or so.

It sure sounds to me like it is a guide rod problem. Take a pair of pliers and see if you can grasp the rod from the end and carefully pull it out a bit and clear the jammed slide.
