MP7 external battery

Postby timmah » Sat Jul 24, 2010 9:56 am

Just curious to see what those of you with an external battery on MP7's are using, I am getting ready to get a lipo, and don't want to get one that is "too hot" for it. I was thinking about a 7.4v 800mah. What are your thoughts? I will be using a Echo1 PEQ box for the external battery...

A 7.4v lipo is probably too much for an Mp7.

A 7.4v lipo =/= A 7.4v nicd or nimh, it matches a 9.6v nimh- and the Mp7 batteries are 7.4v nimh. (Basically, you'll eventually break something- be it a gear or frying the motor; both of which you cannot replace).

If you are going with an external battery for an Mp7, go for a good old 8.4v nimh battery- or even better, try to get a custom 7.4v nimh battery pack.

The 7.4V LiPo will be fine. You probably won't need anything over a 15C pack.
Well, you can start a new topic and get flamed for not searching, or you can search and get flamed for necro-posting. It's really your choice...
