KWA mp7 - low fps

KWA mp7 - low fps

Postby Chairmanlao » Tue Jun 29, 2010 4:49 pm

I bought a KWA mp7 from AONW a while back and its acting kinda funny.
The FPS is shooting around 270 as too the 350 ish.
It cannot even break a side of a can.
The range of it also decreased.
The gun has not been dropped, the mags have not been dropped.
I also keep a little bit of gas inside the mags.
I'm using propane, Matrix .2s (should be .23 but i haven't gotten time to get any) and I have cleaned the barrel (it wasn't very dirty)
Can anyone give me some tips to why this is happening?

*note* I understand gas blow back SMG, Pistols don't work as well in the cold....ummm its summer. When I'm shooting this its about 65 outside.

EDIT: I though I had 4 KWA mags. WRONG. I have 1 kwa mag and 3 KSC mags. Which KSC mags have a WEAKER gas flow valve. PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Yes sir!

UPDATE: I noticed when the boxes the mag came in....They are KSC (i got this as a gift, didn't pay attention to the boxes of the mag)
But KSC mags in a KWA gun?

I know that the KSC version is "weaker" in fps than the KWA model.
Hmmmm...I wonder

there basically same brand one is cheaper than other. my suggestion is by better mags or replace valves on ksc you could take them a part and coat them in Silicone oil or silicone grease (sila glide works great)

The KSC "Japanese" version is lower velocity than the KWA USA model. The "Taiwanese" or "World" version is the exact same gun without the gay Umarex crap on it. This was somewhat of a misdirection by the distributor here in the US to prevent people from ordering the un-official licensed version from KSC so they didn't have a bunch of trademarked guns running around the US without paying Umarex.

On a quick note here (a bit unrelated)
My KWA KP45 Tactical had "USP .45" written in the hop up unit

KWA USA owned by KWA Hong Kong owned by KSC Japan...

KSC Japan is the old KSC we have known for a long time. They set up KWA Hong Kong to get around Japanese laws and so the Japanese versions are legal in Japan and the Taiwanese or World versions are hopped up and metal for the rest of us. KWA Hong Kong set up KWA USA to be their distributor here and to distribute USA versions of guns that wouldn't violate any US Laws. If you order a KSC Rifle from an asian distributor they come in KWA boxes, they just sport KAC trades on the ARs (it's actually the KAC/USMC body markings from G&P, I suspect they make KWA's receivers) and H&K trades on the G36C.

But back to the Magazine issue. You might have gotten Japanese MP7 mags which have low flow valves in them to specifically lower the velocity. First thing I would do though is disassemble the mags and soak them in power steering conditioner fluid overnight then put them back together after a rub down. This should refresh any of the rubber gaskets inside the magazine. If you are still having problems I would see if you could get the valves from somebody through KWA.

Since the post is on the KWA/KSC topic, I ordered what was supposed to be a KWA MP7 from Evike but i think i got the KSC Taiwan version because it has trades but no Umarex stuff on it. The performance is exactly same right? Sorry, its my first GBB replica

Probably Shock. Look at the serial number. If it's a KWA USA one it will have "US" in the serial number, I think at the end if I remember correctly. Performance is the same, yes.
