Is a used TM mk23 good?

Postby gera229 » Fri Jun 11, 2010 12:04 pm

Is a used TM MK23 for 100 a good price? I contacted it comes with 2 mags, with 1 kinda of leaking(I read it up that I can fix it), and he says it's 3 years old and slightly ever used.
Would it be ok to use propane on a stock TM like this one since it's NBB? Thanks.

I used nothing but propane in my mk23s, bought them both used.
its a ok price, but remember there is always a risk in buying used

Propane ran fine in my MK23 for nearly a year before I sold it. Ash now owns it and uses propane as well.

I doubt the veracity of the "slightly ever used " claim. It's a 3 year old + gun, it's been used. Leaky mags are a staple of MK23 legacy, but it's easy enough to fix. I used JBWeld for one of my magazines and reconditioned the seals on the others.

EDIT: Does it come with the suppressor?

Jump on it, those things rock. Great range and groupings, they've been deemed the "AEG killer" for years now...

I use a Y&P Mk23, and love it. I send .43g bb's down the barrel, and they fly straight and true. It's quite fun to pull someone aside, have them shoot at a target far away with their AEG, then pop the same target with my Mk23 while they shit their pants. It's quite fun.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of it's a $25 spring pistol. My buddy uses his AEG as a secondary because of the range on the Mk 23.

What is the orange tips color supposed to be on the socom's silencer? I had to sellers and they both said nothing was modified and was stock, while one had a red colored tip and has his gun since 2005 and the other had an orange tip and said it's 3 years old. Thanks.

Different generations. The 2005 model was one of the older models, probably with the full trade/foam filled suppressor which they subsequently banned the importation of.

The YP is a Non-blowback gas pistol. The suppressor has an extended inner barrel that runs right up to the tip. It cost me $40ish on sale, but new they are only like $60. The mags do not leak (unlike the TM ones). The only plus I know of to the TM is the functional suppressor. Although mine is still pretty quiet.

But a TM is not bad either especially if you know how to fix the leak(I read the solution). But otherwise i'm down to thinking the TM is more durable and everything(range and accuracy) but the mag(fixable then becomes a beast again) than the YP even though the YP isn't bad and will last since it's NBB also it's cheaper which is a pro. Thanks.

If you have the money, get the TM.

I didn't have the money, so I got the YP. Surprisingly, it's the only pistol I've had that hasn't busted.
