WE KAC PDW= EXPLODER

Postby Coot_Prichards » Sat May 01, 2010 9:10 pm

I recently purchased a WE KAC PDW. I had only ran about 4-5 mags through it before the blowback action caused the lower receiver to split in two, blowing off the back part of the gun, just before the sling swivel. The entire stock fell off. The lower receiver is only made of cheap pot metal and totally weak. I feel like we are going to be hearing a lot more of this. Total design FAIL. Do not buy. I will post pictures at some point, it's so extreme it's almost funny.

Was this stock or were there any modifications done to this PDW? I was initially interested in this, but I'd put in an adjustable valve guide rod to get it shooting CQB levels.

Android, the KWA MP7 and upcoming KWA MP9 are both going to be much much better CQB gas weapon choices. Take it from a WE owner/tech.

Well, I guess mine DID get roally upsidedown somehow and now I have a full auto 1911 that I would love if someone fixed sometime, but that was because a 13 year old idiot had it and dropped it an ungodly amount of times

That may be true, but I like the look of the KAC PDW. If KWA made that on the other hand...

That's odd to be honest. This is a first I've heard of that. Maybe you got a lemon?

Totally stock. Maybe I got a lemon, maybe we haven't heard about it because not many of these made it stateside yet. If I remember correctly the SCAR's were having issues with the recoil damaging the stock mount.
I think it's a similar situation here. Just poor engineering. Pot metal is weak and that area takes a lot of hammering. But if it breaks in the first 5 mags? totally unacceptable.

I've totally gone off GBB now. My M4 went down after 2 skirmishes, started falling apart 1st skirmish. My PDW's barrel screw stripped (yep all that's holding the outer barrel on is a short hex screw) / exterior screws fell off and were lost (don't even know if that's cosmetic or not yet) and the back exploded. From my experience these WE gas guns are unreliable at best. They are made out of cheap materials and start to fall apart right away. I've seen $100 chinese AEG better made and more reliable. And initial investment is $250 + $280 worth of mags = $530, just so you can skirmish without reloading every 5 min. Believe me, if yr used to hi-caps, changing mags after 30 rounds take some getting used to. And the gun will break or start falling apart right away. Prepare for making lots of repairs.

Although, when it works, it's dope.

Probably a design flaw from the eliminated buffertube. The bolt slams right back into the back of the upper reciever

EXACTLY:

but it's really the lower receiver taking the strain since in curves up and the upper receiver ends, so it's slamming against the lower receiver.
