Replacement grips for Pistols?

Postby MuGGzy » Tue Mar 09, 2010 1:06 pm

Just curious if on the average, replacement grips for real guns usually fit on AEG/Gas Pistols. For instance a fat Hogue grip onto a airsoft pistol. I have looked on the sites and don't see many options for replacing the grips or side panels so I was curious.

I have succesfully mated a set of Hogues to my kids M9. It took some filing of the pins that hold the hammer spring in but once done it felt perfect.

i know most airsoft 1911s will accept the majority of the real steel 1911 grips that are available. ive also seen people put houges on their SIG 226s, but i hear it requires some modification like TM was talking about.

I've planned on putting a Hogue on a 1911 the instant I get one.

A Hogue on the 226 requires boring out the holes for the screws, because the grips mate slightly differently.

I also ran into block that holds the main spring in place being wayyyy too wide to fit the hogues I have. also the pin that holds the decocker return spring is a little longer than the RS, so you have to bore that dimple a little deeper
