TM FiveseveN (5.7)

Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

TM FiveseveN (5.7)

Postby Precisional » Mon Mar 01, 2010 4:34 am

Howdy
I was curious as to how many of you own/have owned, a TM FiveseveN, and your thoughts/concerns upon owning it.

I'm looking for one to compliment my p90, however good reviews appear scarce, and as far as actually purchasing one... they seem to be out of stock almost everywhere that I can find. Let alone finding a spare mag for it.

If you have one and are looking to sell it, hit me up too. ;)

Thanks, and any information regarding it would be appreciated.

Might have to look to hong kong for one. www.wgcshop.com has the pistol in stock but Ehobbyasia has a better price. Expect shipping to run about $30+ from HK

Thanks! Everywhere local is sold out, or special order anyways, so might as well ship it in directly I suppose.

I have one. It kicks like a mule. 320 on green, shoots like a laser. I have been using it instead of my desert eagles. It's a TM, so very well built. If you have any particular questions let me know.

You can buy from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/FN-5-7-Tokyo-Marui- ... 3caa24c34f

I bought my sopmod from this guy and he is a really nice guy. My order arrive real fast and in excellent condition. The box are being ripped apart by the customs though.

You're gonna break it if you're using green gas. TMs were made for HFC134a.

Only been using green for the last three years as 134 is a pain to find. Been trying to find the AI duster adapter here in Hawaii but no dice so far. I can find the KA green and my friends all use propane. My Desert Eagles and Hi Capas have only been run on green gas since I bought them. I agree that using only 134 on the older TM gbb pistols is true the gbbs made since the Hi capa have been running fine on green.

Reviews say it holds up to propane and green gas as long as it's properly maintained.

Thanks for the link, might cost about the same from AEX as shipping it from hong kong, but I'd receive it quicker, and wouldn't have to worry about customs..

I think I'll go for it.

I special ordered one from Evike, can't wait till I get it :D

Have either of you had problems with the outer barrel shredding and the hopup mounts being damaged? I found done reviews saying that some people were having that problem, but solved it by installing a firefly hard hopup unit, as well as wrapping a layer of tape around the end of the outer barrel sort of a shock absorbant and movement reduction..

Forgive the Necro, but it's relevant.

So I had received my TM FiveseveN on the 11th of March, and loved it to death. I was in the middle of a pistol/shotgun cqb only event tonight, about two hours ago to be exact. I sighted in on a target, gently pulled the trigger, and bam, my outer barrel just popped out the front of my gun.

Sure enough, I field stripped it and the outer barrel had shredded itself off of the hopup unit. Exactly what I feared when I had bought the gun. Less than two months of average careful use. Naturally I had my gun cleaned and maintained regularly so that wasn't the issue, I guess I just faced the inevitable for running green gas through it.

Lucky for me, red wolf airsoft seems to carry some outer barrels for the 5-7 by Nine Ball for around $25. I must say though, despite this little setback tonight, I'm very proud of my 5.7, it's the best airsoft handgun i'd shot, and within those two months, that beast saw a total of over 250 kills. (I'd often play pistol only) So until I can scrounge up $25 I bid my pistol farewell.

FWIW, I've heard the Guarder body kits are quite amazing. They also make a threaded barrel for those moments when you feel like going Sam Fisher.

Have you only been using green/propane with it? Or a mix of duster and green? I've been wanting to get a 5-7 for a while (my Marushin didn't really cut the beans), and if the TM can handle green just fine, I won't need to worry about it.

I've only run green gas through it. From what I've read, it doesn't happen with everyone's, just a few here and there. I don't know if it's relevant, but one guy replaced his hopup bucking with a firefly hard (still softer than the stock TM) and never had a problem with this after that.

I've put about 5000 rounds through mine before it broke, so it still lasted awhile. And if you only use it as a side-arm and not a primary, you should be good for quite a longer period of time. And then even if it does eventually break, it's only a $25 part. Despite this issue that occurs for some people, I still would highly recommend the TM Five-seveN to anyone. It's an excellent pistol.

I looked around a bit and couldn't find a gaurder body kit for the 5-7, do you happen to know where they could be in stock?

Also Nasty, you might want to have him take a look just in case, just because it hasn't cracked off yet, doesn't mean the holes connecting to the hopup unit haven't elongated or deformed slightly.

And yes, I love the gun, although since it is my first GBB, I probably would explore a few others before I buy another one. I kinda like the Glocks, USP and the TM 4.3.
