Incorrect hfc134a mag fill? (TM hi capa magazine)

Postby laterDays » Mon Feb 01, 2010 1:49 pm

Hi I use a butane adaptor to fill my tm hi capa mags. Quite a bit of gas seemed to leak because the connection between the adaptor and the magazine wasn't the greatest. Hence, I dremmeled a small Indentation using this dremel head http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Attachments ... x?pid=7144 . The connection seems better, but it still seems a tiny bit of gas leaks during the fill. But, when I fill my mags it takes about 7 seconds to fill the magazines and that fill only has enough gas to go about 40 rounds. I read that 1 charge should take about 3 seconds and be able to shoot about 3 magazines worth! If you have an idea what the problem is, please share! Thanks.

Did you dremel the fill valve or the butane adapter?
What gas are you trying to load into it?

Ah excuse my vagueness. I dremelled a slight concave cavity (about 2mm deep) into the butane adapter to fit the convex shape of the TM magazine fill valve. I am loading duster HFC 134a into the magazine.

Not to discourage your DIY spirit, but you'll have much better results with one of these: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/GG-AI-PROP-ADAP.htm

Hrm, you said that you can only shoot 40rds on one fill? Thats about typical for most GBBs. Unless you can beat that 40rd mark using bottled japan gas, I wouldn't fret it.

Indeed, but consider that the double stack .45 magazines are among the largest you can find...

So, when you say forty rounds, what ambient temperature, and at how fast a rate are you firing?
