KWA g17 vs. KWA kp45 tactical ns2

Postby laterDays » Mon Jan 25, 2010 1:58 am

Hi guys, I have been going crazy lately as to which gbb I should buy. I originally was looking for a usp, however over the past couple weeks, I read many review online (some of which are up to 5 years old). From the reviews, I found that people highly recommend the KWA g17 at which point I feverishly searched for one. I also began to really like the look of the glocks. So, here is the question: is it worth the trouble to try to grab a glock 17 which has proven reliable, but is difficult to repair since parts are not readily available in the US, or should I go for the KWA kp45 tactical ns2 which is great but may be a better airsoft pistol because of the more recent technology? Thanks for the replies everyone!

Finding parts for the Glock is pretty easy

I've had a KWA Glock and own a KSC Glock (which is pretty much the same thing, just one has trades). They have been great, but I can never get the hop dialed right so its always high.

So I had hoped to resolve this without dragging this thread out again, but I messaged laterDays some weeks ago and haven't gotten a response so I figured I would post my question for everyone. I am looking at getting either a KWA G17 or their KP45, so naturally this post caught my eye.
Question being... does anyone own one, or ideally both, of these pistols? Can anyone tell me which would probably be a better buy? The KP45 is slightly more expensive so I was looking more at the G17, but either would do. Any helpful thoughts?

They are pretty much the same. Handle both before you buy. The KP45 (USP.45) is bigger than it looks.

I like both, but quick and dirty pros and cons:

Glock 17:
Pros: More normal size; easier to find accessories for (holsters, mag holders, etc.)
Cons: Due to Glock being a bunch of sue-happy bitches, they're becoming increasingly harder to find; parts are getting hard to find

USP .45:
Pros: Easier to find in the States; easier to get parts for.
Cons: Large (it's based on the MK 23 for Christ's sake); harder to find accessories for.

They have similar performance as NS2 is a slightly modified version of the Glock's action.

Alrighty, looks like KWA no longer makes Glocks of any kind so rather than try to find a used one I'm going with the KP45. Question then being: would there be any advantage to getting the KP45 Tactical over the standard KP45? I'm assuming that getting the Match would be for no reason other than looks, so these are essentially my two options

I think the tactical has a threaded orange tip, but it's +16mm, so it's pretty hard to find anything that would fit.

That seems a little odd, I hate to question you but is there anyone else who can verify that?

I know the SOCOM pistols have a 16mm thread, but I'm not sure on the USP Tactical. It still has the proprietary rail, so it definitely could, knowing the stupid mistakes H&K makes.

I am mildly offended by that statement (me, who has only ever owned replicas of H&K-made weapons) -.-

But it's alright, I found a standard KP45 for $125 on Ebay which is $15 cheaper than any other version. So the question is a bit irrelevant now I guess...

Okay, so just to put the question to rest I discovered that, according to Airsoft GI, the KP45 Tactical does in fact have a 16mm clockwise threaded outer barrel.
