Problems with the WA system usually revolve around the bolt lock, accuracy and the cooldown effect. They don't outright break very often... And avoid steel parts, because when one part is steel, they all should be, otherwise the steel bits will destroy the non-steel bits. (You really don't need steel gbbr parts anyway... I've owned a WE scar, WE G36 and AGM M4. I put a lot of rounds through all of them and haven't witnessed substantial wear).

They operate using similar systems, regardless of their comparability with one another. My point was that even my crappy WE gbbrs haven't needed the steel upgrade bits.
To the OP. If you bring a backup primary, why not use it? If it breaks it breaks, might as well tag some fools with it while it works.
