Sand in my KWA 226

Postby Nark » Mon Aug 20, 2012 3:11 pm

So I was running to the exfil at LC Trade Winds and my pistol dropped out of my drop leg and was covered in sand. What are some tips for cleaning it? I know how to take it apart to the basic parts i.e. slide, spring, spring rod, and grip assembly. What should I use and how much further should I go in taking it apart?

Compressed air should blast most of that crap out. Use an air compressor if you can, but computer duster canned air will work in a pinch too. Take it as far apart as you are comfortable and work it over for fifteen or twenty minutes with the air, getting it into as much of the gun as you can. Wear glasses, flying sand in the eyes sucks.
