Hello again. I'm going to copy paste something that we previously addressed on another forum. Excerpt starts here:
***************************************************
IMHO I'm surprised to see so many different opinions on this. Some of what everyone is saying is part true and so is part false. But combined, it's one big confusing mess.
So, if possible, I would like to help clarify this for everyone. Hopefully it will resolve some confusion for you guys.
First off, I would like to cover the basic premises.
1. KSC is a manufacturer in Taiwan that manufactures guns for KSC Japan and Hong Kong.
2. KWA is a US based company that imports from the KSC manufacturer - essentially KSC OEM's for KWA
3. KWA is registered with the USTPO (United States Patent & Trademark Office). You can confirm this by going to www.uspto.gov and looking up Trademark #'s 85040182, 78859154, 77684707.
Originally, about 10 years ago, KWA was importing KSC G Series manufactured with slightly different specs than for Japanese / HK sales.
This is the first point, KWA and KSC are from the same manufacturer and virtually the same, the main difference being specs.
However, in the last few years Glock has sued a few companies for trademark / trade dress of their real steal guns. Which of course scared some people, include KWA.
So KWA discontinued and STOPPED importing these guns. However, keep in mind, KSC in Taiwan can't be touched, and they have continued to manufacturer guns. In fact now KSC manufactures their G series to the same specs as the specs of the KWA (virtually identical). These are available on the open market in HK and some US locations. Feel free to check yourself. Same goes for the new Umarex / KWA MP7 GBB. This the KSC's manufacturing, just branded as Umarex / KWA.
So, the main point being, KSC is still alive and well. And not all KSC's you see are counterfeits.
Now, since KWA stopped importing these guns and the trademark KWA belongs to KWA USA, technically anyone selling these guns should be putting them under KSC, and not KWA. Because "technically" they are by KSC and not imported or related to KWA. And of course, KWA had to make that counterfeit announcement to help separate themselves from being sued. They need to make sure Glock doesn't think it's KWA that's selling all these "Glock Counterfeits" (airsoft guns).
To my knowledge the only Chinese manufacturer that makes a G series gun is Bell. But they don't have the KSC packaging, manual, quality, look and feel.
Point being, just because you see a KSC gun does not mean it's a cheap china made knock off. Sure it's not a KWA, but it's a KSC, which I might add, is just as good. Especially if the retailer you purchased it from offers the warranty (which airsplat does)
That is where I think some people are getting confused. KWA's statement was there are counterfeits KWA's, not knock off KSC / KWA. Which is true, these guns are KSC's, not KWA's.
I hope that will clear the air for KSC / KWA guns.
As a final note, some of what I said is industry insider knowledge that not everyone is purvey to this. I did do my best to disclose as much as possible without stepping on anyone's toes or causing ill intentions. But at some point, I think it's important that when there is enough misinformation, it's important to clarify before it gets out of hand. And most importantly, recently there have been agreements between certain parties and all this is behind them, so information like this can be disclosed as long as it's not from those parties involved.
I really hope that helps.

Hopefully that'll help clear up some confusion.
