a good sniper for starter

Discussion about sniper rifles or bolt-action.

a good sniper for starter

Postby Bircher » Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:15 pm

So im looking to buy either a sniper or an AEG, im going to look at snipers and AEGS and post my final 2 in a thread in the future, ect, anyhow,

My loadout i have now is is MARpat BDUs with a black vest and a black Tosho along with knee pads every now and than. Im looking for a sniper rifle that matches my loadout ive narrowed down to 2 snipers, I am open to sudjestions(typo?)

choice3:
Jg m99 snow wolf
http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-JG-SW99-01.htm

but why does my loadout matter with the weapon i get? im stating my gear so people know not to post a desert tan rifle and can help find a rifle that best fits my load out.

sniper =/= gun
sniper rifle = gun

Get an AEG. You're not a sniper, and you'll hate A) sitting still for hours on end, and B) being outranged by almost all the upper-level AEGs on the field.

Edit, yeah, it's spelled "suggestions". ;)

Just a warning: prepare to get told not to get a sniper, and instead to get an AEG. And it will probably sound really harsh.

I've used both of those rifles, and I much prefer the m24. It shoots well, and feels good when you're using it. I don't personally like svd's but they shoot pretty well. It's all a matter of opinion. You really won't know what you like until you use it.

As everyone else will say, an AEG is the better route to go. Bolt spots are almost always very few in number and get taken quickly. Sniping is also not as easy as it seems. Having run both a bolt and AEG at community games, I can tell you that running an AEG is much more fun, and it also comes in a lot handier if you get separated and are on your own. It's hard to defend against multiple OPFOR if all you have is a bolt and sidearm.
Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.

....Wat?

JG BAR-10 if bolt
JG M16 enhanced if AEG

Who cares about color? That's what they made spray paint for.

get an m14 and leave it with the auto function. They have good accuracy, and when some 15 yr old punk wont call a hit from a single shot to his chest, easy switch over to full auto to let him know not to do it again :)

you're 15, have fun and get yourself an AEG. Getting a sniper rifile is more about running recon than getting kills.

Completely O/T:

Ah that's right you got a G&G M14 too? I love mine

/O/T

Get an M14 if you want. Just be warned they can be a pain to get parts for if you don't have a CA/G&G.

Go on Craigslist I found A completely Upgraded Echo1 416 for $190.

Start out on a AEG then work your way up to a bolt. Bolts are easy to shoot, but requires allot of skill to hit you target. You might think you have that skill now, but it takes years of practice just to hit a quarter.

You do know a sniper is a person and a sniper Rifle is something you buy right?

I hate it when people refer the rifle as a sniper. It makes me want to pull my hair out
