Police See Rise in Paintball, Pellet Gun Use

GRESHAM -- Police say they've seen a sharp rise in the use of pellet guns and paintball guns.

Officers say they confiscated at least six guns from people on the street in a 24-hour period.

Police have had reports of of people being shot by pellet and paintball guns. They have also responded to people playing dangerous games.

Officers want to remind people that it is illegal to fire any gun within Gresham city limits. Anyone in violation could be fined up to $1,500 and/or spend up to six months in jail.

I remember days before Airsoft Pacific. I remember the first game that some of these guys were at - when nobody cared what your gun was shooting at. I've taken plenty of hits from 500fps guns - I know how they feel - and I know that things have gotten better since some rules were applied. There's problems in every community (except of course, yours, because you're a adult-god, and we're all a bunch of kids regardless of age and experience).

Just make sure that you, as an airsoft pacific player, are never EVER involved in the illegal use of an airsoft gun and know exactly what to say if you are asked questions about the safey and legality of airsoft as a legtimate sport rather than a game where 12 year olds get thier eyes shot out.

I hear what you are saying and i agree that most young teenagers use CYMA crap and don't take airsoft seriously but no kid i know would ever comit a crime with an airsoft gun. But then again i am from Hippyville where the 60's and 70's will reign forever.
