The ASTM Recommends Safe Velocity Limits

Postby Matt » Fri Jan 21, 2011 2:19 pm

Interesting. I thought the ASTM was still ignoring Airsoft, but I guess not. It's good to see that manufacturers have a guideline to follow. 350 for CQB. 400 for outdoor.

Bah!

900fps across the board. Those left standing can rebuild society free of fraidy-nubs.

Totally like the outdoor fps. The indoor could drop another 20 to 50 fps..

Why does the guy with the microphone have a Mission Spec IAS (Irene Adaptive Sling) on him? Looks like they are getting so popular that it is becoming a fashion statement to wear them in public!!!

And yes, I <3 my IAS

There's a difference between a person who has a screwdriver and a person who knows what they are doing.

Agree'd. I like 330 fps for indoors but usually cqb guns come stock at around 300, at least the one's with logical manufacturers

Why would you like 330fps indoor?

350 indoors breaks skin. I have a welt from 4 weeks ago from a 350 gun. That same gun also cracked my aim point lens.

I wouldn't mind it being as low as or lower than 300 fps.

Basically everyone should run Stock TM's for CQB? I'll start saving now. Always wanted a good excuse to start an XM8 build

Not embedded, but still a bad one:

At 7:15 of this video you can see the guy who had the bb embed:
