Lets get back on topic guys.

18 is legal, but you can go to other countries to get younger.

So... Where does 15 fall on the number line in comparison to 18? Legal, illegal, morally wrong?

Thank you to the people who actually answered my question. I never said I was planning on bringing it to any public games. Not one time in my post.

I have a hard time finding a problem with using a combination of airsoft and real steel to provide alternatives to SIM-X. Being that Joe is not some 16 year old "playing with guns" and 1: loads his own ammo on an immensely frequent basis 2: Frequently participates in real steel training and 3: has immense experience with firearms in general I'd say if he and a few friends decide that, after hitting a few targets with the round they modified, want to test it on themselves, that's up to them and is no more dangerous than the first field test by the guys who invented the SIM-X round. Cool your jets, Karma.

While I understand that, and I respect Joe's right to modify munitions and do as he pleases, it just seems to me that the propensity for an accident goes up immensely when a gun is fired at someone for the sake of training or entertainment. I get that Joe is significantly more experienced with firearms and loading than this kid, but he's basically saying to him, "I do this shit all the time, go for it" and I don't think that's particularly responsible.

I have another legality/safety question, and I dont want to spam the forum with threads.
Is it legal to use .29g aluminum BBs at AP games as long as the airsoft gun its used in fires at less than 550fps with a .20 gram bb, I know plastic .43s are allowed but I've heard about aluminum .29s and I was considering buying some.

I couldn't see why not. The FPS rules are in place to regulate the amount of joules (energy) behind each shot. I'll use the CQC limits as an example: At ~330FPS a .20g projectile has 1J of energy behind it. As long as your BB hits with or under 1J it shouldn't matter whether it comes from a .20g projectile at 330FPS or a 2g projectile at 33FPS.

The harder the bb the more likely to cause damage; you'd have to do tests to figure out if that matters at these weights and speeds though.

I'm assuming the only benefit would be less wind resistance? I wonder how much it'll even matter anyway, airsoft BBs seem to be pretty damn smooth.

What gets me is that the people trying to prove a point with there extensive knowledge do not know the difference between A Fake Corporation and a Training round.

Sim-x = APST Dummy Corp Fo Fantasy games.

Simmunitions = Simunition Corporating FX training rounds THAT BY THE FUCKIN WAY CANT BE FIREd OUT OF UNMODIFIED FIREARMS AND THE MODIFIED FIREARM CANNOT CHAMBER A LIVE CARTRIDGE.

bleeding Airsoft, Makes people that handle firearms just bleeding stupid.

BTW a few yuears ago at a BBQ Alex Pearson Dared me to shoot him with my Beneli M1 with a Beanbag round, As much fun as that would have been I am not stupid enough to point a real firearm at someone I don't want to kill.
