Damn Knucks....

I use a neck gaiter or I keep my mouth closed when taking fire. Usually that gets the job done, and I've already lost a tooth at Molalla.

What about for those who do indoors stuff?

I tried using a balaclava, but I get WAY too hot too fast. I think a gas mask would be sweet, but on the pricey side.

Yes....certainly a nice heavy rubber gas mask will keep you cooler than the super light and airy spandex on your face.

Gas masks are really neat, but you have SUPER limited vision, and the lenses will fog right the shazaam up as soon as you breathe.

They don't fog up unless the gas mask is bad, at least not for me. I have worn multiple masks with no problems. The MSA Melliniums and MSA Advantages are good choices if you can find them for cheap. They have Ansi rated lenses and your breathe circulates air to keep the lenses from fogging.

Fogging doesn't occur because of a lack of air circulation, it happens when you have one warm, humid side of a material and one cold side. The warmer, humid air will 'stick' to the cooler surfaces of the mask. The lenses are cooled from the outside air, and the evaporating sweat and your deep husky breaths provide the warm humid air.

All gask masks fog - they are designed to NOT ventilate outside air/gases to the interior of the mask. I'd suggest meshing out the lenses to avoid this, if you really want to wear a gas mask. This does look a little weird, because the functionality of the mask (even in the pretend-world of airsoft) is clearly compromised.

wikipedia wrote:Baklava or baklawa is a rich, sweet pastry featured in many cuisines of the former Ottoman countries. It is a pastry made of layers of phyllo dough filled with chopped walnuts or pistachios and sweetened with syrup or honey.

A balaclava (pronounced /ˌbæləˈklɑːvə/), also known as a balaclava helmet or ski mask, is a form of headgear covering the whole head, exposing only the face or upper part of it, and sometimes only the eyes. The name "balaclava" comes from the town of Balaklava in Crimea. During the Crimean War, knitted balaclavas were sent over to the British troops to help protect them from the bitter cold weather. They are traditionally knitted from wool, and can be rolled up into a hat to cover just the crown of the head. Modern balaclavas can be made from a number of materials, such as silk, cotton, polypropylene, neoprene, wool or fleece. Modern balaclavas are also used in outdoor winter sports activities such as skiing, snowboarding, or winter bicycling to help protect the face from the cold wind and maintain warmth. Some exercise specialists believe that balaclavas help athletes with exercise-induced asthma by recirculating exhaled moisture (in concurrence with the theory that it is the dryness of air, not temperature, that triggers some types of asthma). [1]Motorcyclists also wear one under their crash helmets for similar reasons; balaclavas also help to keep the inner lining of the helmet clean.

Additionally, balaclavas are often associated with special forces units such as the SAS, or alternatively with robbers and terrorists, where they act as a form of identity concealment.

I think people (n00bs) who do not know what the hell they're talking about should just keep their festering pie-holes shut.

Perhaps the ski-mask that you wear when you go skiing with your boyfriend keeps you warm, but I assure you that the Nomex balaclava I wear is for flash protection and NOT warmth. :learn:

Flash protection, eh? My cotton balaclava isn't really warm, I use it as face protection also, bulky a$$ face masks don't cut the turd log for me.
EDIT: Incubus, it was nice knowing ya. :(
