Let the parents do the parenting. If they're worried about safety, it's their job. Just like it's their job to keep their kids from watching TV shows and movies that aren't appropriate by their standards.

Well, in this sue happy society of ours I wouldn't mind having minors required to wear full face pro.

Reminds me of the required bicycle-helmut thing...it's not about you being all safe and protected, it's about protecting me from you. Lets say I bump you with my car, should be a non/low injury incident. You happen to fall over at an odd angle and catch the curb with your head. Now instead of ticket I'm up for manslaughter. Savvy? ;)

I would have to argue that there are kids that aren't going to be honest with thier parents. We all did stupid things: drinking, spending time wiht the wrong people, sneaking in to movies that our parents wouldn't approve of. This is why such laws/rules are in effect. Of course parents should take responsibility for their kids however there are situations where they aren't informed enough to be able to tell their child, let's say "where a mask". I have agonized of similar questions all my life and have always decided that things lkek movie ratings and safety laws are a good thing as long as the parent has the option of allowing the child tto ignore these restrictions if they don't agree with them. Of course if the parent was to wave the restrictionthey would be responsibile; weather that be a lost tooth from airsoft or getting sick from underage drinking.

Sorry about the long post just wantes to put in my two cents.
