I agree I was raised around real gun was taught you treat all guns as if there loaded same with airsoft u treat it as if it were real.pacman wrote:I for one find it in no way amusing. At one time I responded to a call regarding a man with a rifle wandering around a bank. Once I arrived found the "man" who in reality was a teenager. It was dark and about 10 pm so not optimum conditions for ID. He was flailing around long gun which from the distance appeared to be real. I pulled my duty weapon on him and yelled for him to drop the rifle and hit the deck. Luckily he complied almost immediately. What we found was a pellet gun that he had taken from his dads gun cabinet to "shoot birds". The thoughts that go through your head when confronted with such a scenario are fast and furious because if he had not complied it would have taken split seconds to make a fatal decision. The resulting action would not only changed his family but given me an event that would never be forgotten, even now I have the whole thing burned into memory from the simple fact it was too close.
Long story short always treat anything that looks like a weapon like it is a real weapon because even if you know what you have no one else might. When I get tweaked by people firing they're AEG's when in not a designated firing zone it's for a reason, these "toys" can still do damage and the user is failing to treat it as a real weapon.
