Need some help, backup here please?

Postby Barracuda » Mon Sep 12, 2005 12:07 pm

Hey, I have an airsoft discussion on another forum where some guy is saying he wants to run through Tualatin on Halloween shooting people with airsoft guns as a "prank." Little help talking to him? It's an open forum, all you have to do is register. http://mini-me.quixjote.com/viewtopic.php?t=182&start=20
My earlier response is on the second page of the thread. Any help explaining to him exactly how dumb this is would be appreciated. Thanks!

If he hasn't figured it out yet, he won't. I'd say call the cops, but that puts airsoft in a bad light. Then again, so does shooting up a bunch of people.

He's probably just pounding his chest, trying to show all of you how badass he is. Ignore him.

EDIT - You're hanging out on a forum with someone who has the title "the original forum furry". Stop hanging out there, and ignore the trolls.

No, I think he's dead serious. He seems to think he can bribe the cops to look the other way (seriously, you have to read the thread to believe it,) and he wants to drag several of my friends into it. I would really appreciate it if someone would back me up with a post or two here.

If your friends are being dragged into it than invite them to talk to the police about it BEFORE it happens, but if you're not involved yourself leave it alone. That is the only thing you can do, and it is the best as well.

I hope this gets straightened out, or else whoever I see on local news will get a class 3 beat down.

IF you really think he is serious, call the cops today and report him. Its better to be proactive with this kind of thing than let it ruin the sport. it wouldn't take much for a city councle to ban airsoft in the city evirons.

The real question is how would you let the police know who the guy was, unless you know him personally. Calling the police and saying you read about a guy whos location says San Francisco saying he was going to shoot some trick or treaters... well again, unless you know who he really is, how are they going to find him.

It's allready illegal to shoot airsoft replicas in the city of Tualatin. A few years back when some young gentlemen played at an abandoned house field. They had thier guns conviscated by the police. I also know of a time when a nieghbor saw someone holding a replica inside a garage. It wasn't to long till the Tualitin S.W.A.T. team arrived.

Police in Tualitin have a zero tolerance for airsoft. I can assure you if this person shoots trick or treaters in that city he will be upsidedown. It would be all over the news and he can forget about trying to bribe any cop. The recognition for arresting these assholes will be worth alot more than 100 bucks.

I have not checked the forum, and I don't think I want to. That said, if he has said he will do this, then he's already committed an offense. Since he knows it's illegal, that makes it even worse. What I suggest you do (if this person is a minor) is to contact his parents AND the police. You have knowledge of an offense being planned, that should be enough for you to report it as it is.

I read through the forum and it was a sarcastic humor attempt.

I can see the headline now.

ARMED CITIZEN SHOOTS AND KILLS HOLOWEEN PRANKSTER

A armed citizen with an Oregon Conceled Handgun Permit shot and killed a young prankster last night when the youth brandished a real looking toy gun pointed it at the armed citizen and fired. Attorneys for the suspected shooter made this statement " The youth brought the realistic looking gun out and pointed it at my client, When he fired my client was sure he saw the action of the firearm cycle at that point he feared for his life and drew his leagaly conceled firearm and fired 3 rounds, All hitting the youth."

The youth was pronounced dead at the scene with 3 bullet wounds, 2 entering his chest and one entering his face. There will be a closed casket funeral on November 5th.

Liberal News Addition: This is why we should ban anything that looks like a gun even sticks that fall of of trees that look like guns. We should even ban grilled cheese sandwiches that look like they have the image of guns after grilling.

:) <--- So where is this kid going to start his spree?

LOL! Hilarity.

Fortunately, apparently he was just joking, although I can't say as I think much of his sense of humor. Sorry for the false alarm, thanks for your responses.
