A News Article in the Seattle Times
By Elizabeth Olhsson

On May 7, 2015, the United States of America invaded the former sovereign
nation of Durkistan, once a Soviet satellite state. What launched this
bold military operation? A private military corporation had invaded and
taken over that country; according to a Pentagon official who asked to
remain unnamed, the US responded because they were afraid of private
individuals having access to nuclear arms. On the ground in Durkistan,
the US found evidence of both nuclear and chemical weaponry. Thanks to
the efforts of brave servicemen, the US disabled 50% of the chemical
weaponry, and 75% of the nuclear weaponry, but more work remains to be
done. It may be difficult to carry out further actions, as the initial
invasion of US forces was ultimately repelled in what one colonel
described as “a close thing, a damn close thing.” Fortunately, Durkistan
has lost control of the skies; its SAM network was destroyed by the
retreating American troops. Although Durkistan fell back from most of its
forward operating bases during the initial assault, the US was unable to
maintain a foothold, so any further operations in Durkistan will have to
be launched from outside the country.

Mission Brief
Fighting has mostly been skirmishes and quick raids by both sides since the breakout of war on May 7th 2015. The US forces deployed to the region have adopted a contain routine. Using lightning raids by deploying via Mechanized methods and, via Blackhawks. Striking at Durkistan controlled bases in raids, freeing local rebels and arming them, and then getting out.
Durkistan forces have been largely on the defensive. The US Forces methods, and their striking from outside Durkistan territory make it hard to pin down the US Soldiers for a prolonged battle. As a result the PMC known as “Firebase” has been stretched thin. Even with the Durkistan military officials who have joined Chernyl’s Forces. To counter this, Adrian Chernyl has contacted former associates in the Russian Military and has promised to bring back former glory of Mother Russia. This has resulted in Russian high ranking commanders defecting to Chernyl’s new Durkistan Protectorate… Along with their troops and equipment. Russian high command has denounced them as traitors but is currently remaining neutral in this conflict.
On July 30th, British special forces move in to assist the American Forces. They are supported by a contingent of EU ground troops. Together the allies push back into Durkistan with the goal of carving out a controlled zone for the allies to begin the liberation of Durkistan peoples.

The event being held on July 30th, Operation Escalation will be dedicated to Cory Elam.
Cory died yesterday July 2nd at 3am in a car crash. He was new to the sport of Airsoft, about a year, but was very passionate about it. He was a team member to us on the 13th Legion, somebody we knew we could count on and some one we knew had our backs both on and off the field. The event is still free to play but during the safety briefing, and the Mission briefing we will be passing a hat/helmet. Please donate. All donations will go to his wife to help her financially in this tragic situation.
Please light a candle, say a prayer, or whatever you feel is appropriate. He was our brother. He will be missed.
Thank you all
