EDIT: CLASS CONFIRMED

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A CONFIRMED CLASS THE WEEKEND BEFORE.

What: This is a two-day class being taught by Mr. Allen Kerr, N7YAF, to teach the fundamentals of amateur radio and then test the participants so that they can receive their FCC license.

When: 16-17 April 2010

Basic timeline: Friday: 1800-2100 Class
Saturday: 0800-1400 Class, 1400-? Testing

Where: 15555 SW 98th Ave Tigard

Event Cost: $15 - Cash is OK, but check is preferred made out to ARRL/VEC.

Age Limit: NONE!

Player cap: None

Materials to bring: Pencil(s), eraser, paper, Social Security Number (unless you have an ID # issued by the Federal communications Commission, in which case bring that), Photo ID, Simple calculator.

Anyone interested, please let me know here so I can give Allen a count. This is an excellent opportunity, and Allen has a 99.5% success rate.

Anything marked "TBD" will be clarified by 12 March 2010.

Just an FYI for those that didn't notice, this class is pending because there is already one that is confirmed the weekend before.

Definitely a good thing, hope to see some new Ham's at the events! It's well worth a persons time to be able to legally operate better radio gear and have repeater capability.
