Take I-5 N toward SEATTLE.

Merge onto I-405 N via EXIT 154 toward RENTON / BELLEVUE. 23 miles

Merge onto WA-522 E via EXIT 23 toward US-2 / WOODINVILLE / WENATCHEE. 14.0 miles

Turn LEFT onto STEVENS PASS HWY / US-2.

Drive through Sultan and take the Sultan Recreational Basin road off of Hwy 2. (left turn, after passing through "downtown" Sultan, and you have started to go uphill) Check your odometer when you turn off Hwy 2, you are going to drive 5.3 miles. Just past the old Eastside field.

You will go up a steep hill, pass through some housing, keep going straight - you will see a large open grassy area on your right, the road will take a sharp turn right. Then you'll take a sweeping left turn, passing by a large brown house on a hill to your right.

Keep LEFT when you come to the fork in the road (Kellog Lake rd, see pic). There will be a swamp on your left.

Keep following Sultan Basin Road until you've gone 5.3 miles. The old Eastside Airsoft field is just before us on the smaller field. The Evergreen field is a few hundred yards farther down the road. There is parking on the side of the road on the right, the field is on the left. Pull off the road right there.

(the camp site is about another 10 miles down this road).

UPDATE: Command Position filled.

The following position has been filled. If you are interested in a command or control position, please email hellmutt@battlesim.com immediately.

US ARMY PSG FILLED - PSG JollyRoger - SSG Richard "Jolly Roger" Lakely from EAFT will be filling the role of Platoon Sergeant. As an active duty SSG stationed at Ft. Lewis (HHT 1/2 CR - S-4 NCOIC - Ft. Lewis, WA) he is more then qualified to exceed all expectations of the position. His experience and demeanor will add an enormous amount of realism and professionalism to the event. I have been to two airsoft events with JollyRoger in the last year and he is an outstanding individual in addition to being a highly effective unit leader. I am proud to have him aboard as OP: KP 24's US Army PSG. Congratulations Rick and thanks for your contribution! All you Evergreen players who will be playing US Army, you have an outstanding leader on your side and he will be a tremendous asset against the opposing forces.

UPDATE: IN depth details coming on Monday.

Mission briefing, rules and details to be posted Monday night. The new larger field will be in play this weekend at Evergreen. Stevo and I spoke at length this afternoon about planning details (camping, porta-potties, etc) and after this weekend multiple details will be ironed out.

UPDATE: Minimum fee will be charged for the operation.

In order to help offset costs for event needs (such as porta potties and other legally required items) we will be asking for a $5 fee for which you will get an "event package" with some operation memorabilia. We are looking at renting/reserving some land for camping and this fee will cover camping fees as well. This is not a field fee or event fee it is a package fee and possible camping fee for which you will receive goods. We are still suggesting a $25 donation and those who pre-pay the full donation before Aug 25 will receive a OP: KP24 patch on game day in addition to extra raffle tickets for the prizes.

For those who really cannot afford the event fee, we will have a "barter" system in place. We will have various duties that will need to be done on a shift basis and those who cannot afford the fee will be able to sign up for a "work shift" to offset the package fee. You will not get an event package but this is a way for those younger players to save up for AEGs! An example work shift will be a 1-2 hour watch at the camp site during the operation or a 1-2 hour shift bringing supplies to way points. . .

UPDATE: Support needed. Yeah you!

We hope that those in the community who wish to support larger operations such as this on a more regular basis will be able to donate to the cause. The Evergreen Airsoft Club has done an outstanding job setting standards based on the voice of the community and they have been able to help legitimize airsoft in Washington. It is my hope that we can bond together to create a truly great event and I need as much support and help as I can get.

If you want to do something for the event, let me know ASAP. It won't be a great event without the help of those in the community. With 12 hours of game time, if you can help out for an hour - that will make it that much better for everyone!

I am going to have some "special" roles for the event and I need role players. If you are interested in a role, let me know. These are the details that make a great event!

UPDATE: Need numbers and names

Hey guys, I am trying to get a preliminary count of players. I have had several emails from squads who can make it but I would like to try to get a list so I can break out the sides and finish the scenario. At this point we have a total of 0 MEC - so I might need to change the operation a bit. Thus, I need numbers and names so I can make sure what I have planned out will work.

If you read this and are going, or want to go please list your name:side (i.e. Jason Daniel "Hellmutt" - US Army) - this way I can make sure the operation is fair and balanced and a HUGE amount of fun. Thanks guys.

I am hoping my good Portland buddies will be making it in force! Gunny? Rick? What about the Goofy kid - can he get a weekend leave? :)

1. SITUATION

It is 2008. In late 2006, in response to increased aggressive posture on the Northern Korean peninsula, North Korea launched
a preemptive nuclear strike against the Western United states and the UK (the US's strongest ally in the North Korean stance)
using the reasoning that the US was going to invade Northern Korea with weapons of mass destruction. They targeted every major
population center on the west coast as well as major military targets such as Ft. Lewis, McChord and the Bremerton Naval station.
North Korean operatives were able to secure former Soviet nuclear weapons and launched them against the UK wiping out over 80%
of the country - leaving little expect for military and high ranking government officials.

This attack prompted immediate US retaliation against North Korea which was largely ineffective due to the fact that over 90% of
North Korea's infrastructure, production and manufacturing has been underground since the early 1960s. This did lead to China to
launch nuclear strikes against former Soviet and now US bases in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
They also completely destroyed Taiwan manufacturing and seized the country and all production. Since that time consumer and
business related technology has been at a virtual standstill as the world deals with the state of the planet. The global economic
repercussions have been extreme and it has also lead to massive amounts of re-purposing of common electronics for both public and
military uses.

The Western United states has been under a radioactive cloud for two years but deep in the forests of Western Washington a small
para-military force has been able to survive in a small basin area known as the Sultan basin. This group SAWW (Secret Army of
Western Washington) has been fighting with local militia and what seems to be some kind of terrorist cell over control of this area.
SAWW has learned that this cell was actually a research cell who has a secret facility in the forest. They had been working on
a shielding technology that converted the ionizing radiation into harmless radiation that could be dispersed as heat and used to
create power for running the shield device. The idea was to create portable radiation shield devices that would allow tactical level
nuclear devices to be used with minimal damage to the cell. Because the MEC cell had been testing the device during the 2006
attacks, roughly a 25 acre area of the Sultan basin has remained radiation free over the last two years and has allowed these
groups to survive and to fight for control of the area.

While SAWW is not a group sympathetic to terrorists, they do have several disagreements with the US government. Some of these
disagreements are large enough that other groups loyal to the US have splintered off and found new members among the survivors of
the 2006 attacks. Many of these groups are comprised of both very young men and older men as well as women and children in
some cases. These local militia group have started binding together to fight for territory against the SAWW. SAWW believes that
since the US government has basically abandoned the Western United States over the last 2 years, they should be able to declare
independence and create a free country of Washington.

Due to the increased chatter of a shielding technology, several countries around the world have started to send troops to the area to
either recover the technology or destroy it. It is rumored that the UK has sent the 5th Royal Airsoft Commandos to recover the
technology desperately needed to deal with the disaster in England, while Russia has sent Voyska Spetsialnogo Naznacheniya
to recover the Soviet scientists and return them to Moscow.

Because of the nature of the area and the conflict alliances will much more then likely be formed - secret negotiations have been
happening between the Russians and the British over the last several weeks although there is nothing solid in place as of yet. SAWW
has also been heard of speaking with MEC operatives as they have intercepted encoded Internet messages from satellite based
uplinks that major US forces will be moving into the area. While the two are at odds, the ultimate goal of SAWW is to secure the
technology so they can form their own sovereign nation and become rich selling the technology to the highest bidder and if the
US army comes and takes it away, that will never happen. Of course the SAWW and the local militia also have common goals that
might be at odds with official US policy which clearly states that this is not a rescue mission and they are not to focus on securing
any survivors of the 2006 attacks.

This is the situation. You will decide the outcome.
