I have been before, it cost a bit, but well worth it if you want the full effect so to speak.
I am checking my work schedule to see if i can get down to play with one of my teams from Co

Intel Update for LionsClaw 6, if you never been to one of these you are missing the best airsoft and real life training available.

Looks like he has.

Regardless, I think $150 for an airsoft game is about 3 times more than I ever expect to pay for any game. I don't need to drop out of a helicopter or be driven in someones military Jeep or be shot out of a cannon to have a good time.

Good luck with the game, I'm sure it will be successful if this is the sixth time you're running it.

Ah. LC kinda bored me, I'm not much for the Southern California terrain, but Irene looks awesome. I've wanted to go but my fellow team members won't cough up the cash to travel.

Thats too bad you guys should at least go once. Nocte, you are right its a little spendy, but its a big moral thing for are troops and supporters. I have been a couple of times, maybe since i am a prior Vet. I thought i was crazy about airsoft, but i have met people from all over the country at these LionsClaw events. This event is known all over the Airsoft world now, its good to see it grow as it helps the Sport grow all over the country in a Positive way with Past & Present Vets.

BTW: I just received a call 15 min's ago from a good friend/soldier and his family,he just had a baby last month and was just called back to Iraq after being out for 2yrs. Needless to say, my wife her family are going nuts right now. I will have to miss this one  and spend the weekend with him and all the family.
He is living next week :tank:

Whats not to love about the SoCal terrain?

I have attended Irene, I know it is a long way for you west coast guys... but it is the most fun you will ever have in airsoft. Convince the team to put the money up, it will be worth it. I want to make it out to LC sometime, but $150 plus costs of making that trip is hard to justify. Irene was easy because I was in the area at the time.

Ya Capt, APST went to LC3. A couple of the guys had been to LC1 and 2. Said that LC3 really was piss poor in comparison. So, really we may have just gotten the wrong event.

There were a few factors that made me think about how good this event could be:

-Limited if any field marshalling
-Mistakes with game administration (changes on the fly and misdrops of companies)
-Cow Pasture.....nothing improved..just a cow pasture.

Admittedly, I did get to speak with Mr. McKnight for a bit. He is a very pleasant guy. So, my time spent wasn't wasted.

To break it down for those of you who do not know: LC is a force on force battle that was the first of its kind in North America...large numbers and high profile leadership. A cool concept, but not worth the price of admission.

Should everyone go once? Sure. It'll make you appreciate or expect more from your local event promoters once you get back.

My experience at LC was subpar. I was at LC3 and between little to no action, miss drops and miss coordination between event administration, and cheating, I was not impressed. I spent a great deal of the weekend hiking around a cow pasture for $120.00. I can do that freely around these parts.

I can go to and participate in four AP games for the price of that, not including the ticket to fly down or the gas to drive down.

As for indoor stuff, I haven't seen any better "field" than what we are going to be doing for CQC6 in the 7 years I have airsofted.

I had the chance to meet and speak with Mr. McKnight at Irene. That alone warranted the price of admission, thankfully, Irene has been a much nicer experience than the reports of LC.

Hillbilly, I am sure CQC's "field" is great... but the Zussman MOUT facility where Irene is held is the best of the best. If it is good enough for the cavalry and tankers at Ft. Knox... it is certainly good enough for us. I guess it is a different comparison though, since it seems like your CQC is completely inside... while the majority of the fighting at Zussman is outside, or shooting out of buildings. The special effects at Zussman are great though.

We strive for a full real world setting. You should check out our video's section here of our past events: http://www.airsoftpacific.com/content.php?page=5

A MOUT facility is cool, but $150.00 cool? Many groups in the area here have been working towards getting access to some of the facilities within the region. I can't imagine the field fee being that steep of a precise, but you never know...

Its great that there are people that enjoy going to these events, it helps the hobby grow. But I am saying from my experience I have had better times and spent a great deal less. Some of the best games that I have played in were only 80 people with some crappy wood and steel bunkers. :)
