I'm too late to actually attend (Damn you incorrect family vacation dates! I thought I was going to be gone this weekend, learned today that's not true) but for next time, I got some LBX tactical pants in Caiman, what team would I be assigned if I brought them out? It seems to be a bit of everything, some greens and some yellows.

Here is a video of the Mugabe doing a practice for "Fraction Wars" on 8-15-15 but then RUDELY interrupted by Whiplash on Specdet1.... Sad to say that Whiplash is not allowed to play in this game as he got some valuable info from watching HEAVILY of the Mugabe practices.....

I would, but my ride is asleep and I don't quite feel like waking them up. I'd love to come, especially since my PAR MK3 just arrived and I'd love to try it out (Although it supposedly shoots 420FPS with .2s, so)

Had a lovely day out there trying out my new LMG and rocking my GoPro for the first time.

This also means that all you Bemba dudes that rushed the trenches in the village, ran through my fire, and miraculously didn't die did so on camera. Having written the sticky on here about hacking not usually actually being hacking, I took it with a grain of salt, but several other Mugabe dudes experienced some questionable honor when fighting toward the village today. Please call your hits, guys.

Also, it was awesome to see Cruz, the Phantom Fury crew, and a few others who actually bothered to theme themselves a bit for the event. It's hard to get newer players to leave their fancy kit at home and do something themed, though, so I saw most people didn't bother dressing up.

It's not faction wars unless you dress up and fight wrong all day. The internet is full of pictures of the Liberian Civil War with all the silly costuming, the backpacks of magazines and grenades, and kids loading MGs out of Mickey Mouse messenger bags. If Fred still had a website, I could drag up the photos of the event and shame everyone who went super TAC'd out today, but I can't so I won't. The theme of an event only works if the players cooperate. Please keep the tone of the event in mind when putting your kit together. There was a portion of that first event where I fired my G3 exclusively while it rested on top of my head. I had on a giant black bandana under a WWII wool field cap. Break the mold and laugh a little. Airsoft is fun.

See ya'll next time.

I also have footage of myself falling over a lump in the field by the edge of the village. Managed to miss landing on my new gun. Got some good battle damage on my elbow and forearm. I haven't turfed it like that in the middle of a game in ages. I think I was upside down for a moment.

AAR:
Friday: started the game really late, but it was good IMO, because it was a little less humid. I ran the small night game in the village, just short of 20 players. Played attack and defend, mostly newer players, and evenly matched teams. Game went well, and seemed everybody had fun. (RARE for a night game) Not once did I here a single complaint of hacking, not a single argument, and everybody played really honorably. Brian from Oregon Airsoft Arena helped out quite a bit, THANK YOU B!
Saturday game:
Rd 1:
I ran command for yellow team. 1st game started, I couldn't here game on, and before we knew it, we were being shot coming out of spawn. Then realized we were udderly, and completely surrounded. We tried getting out any way we possibly could, rather than being a whiney b..ch, and calling admin, but finally had to. The guys had a good attitude about it though, and just kept trying.
Once we got out of spawn, we started collecting objectives, shootin' fewls, (wrong spelling to irritate Ogre), and generally having a blast. Bacon ran command for his team, and they're a cohesive, experienced unit, so just waited for them to do their thing, then I took the rest of the guys. It worked well, and didn't hear any complaints. There was a little confusion by a few, as to logistics of the game, (imagine that) and we wound up stealing a couple of objectives from one the other teams that wasn't supposed to be "stealable" but it was easily remedied by admin. (Sorry guys, lol) other than that snafu, first round ended with us in the lead by a slim margin over Cruz's team, with Rocks team bringing up the rear.
Rd 2:
The un-stealable objectives were now stealable, so Bacon and the 441, took one objective, and dissappeared. A few faster guys went out to create havoc, and possibly find more objects, the rest of us went to defend "the box". Before we knew it, we got absolutely slammed from all sides, by blue, AND green teams, and they captured the box. So, we then concentrated our efforts on capturing Blue teams box, as it was closer, and they had less numbers, in which we were successful in doing. From that point we simply remained with the captured blue box, defending successfully until end of game.
Overall: 441 did a great job all day, and their willingness to do the boring but highly important job of hiding and defending our objective was very much appreciated.Cruz Foxhound, and his band O'goons (lol) did a great job all day, and I could tell they had a plan, and were working their plan. Rocksteady, and his motley crue seemed to be friken everywhere we went, and I later found out that was their plan, lol. I had a blast all day, and was really impressed with my teams willingness to do anything asked of them, which thankfully rewarded them for their efforts with a very close, and hard fought win!

Not knocking it, but I don't think a single person used the kill card system that was thrown around; when people got shot they just immediately death ragged and took off. CQB really never happened at least on the Mugabe end of things.

Several of our guys retrieved the kill cards. My team was instructed to travel in small groups, to make it hard for Opfor to get to us to get the kill cards. They were also instructed to not just take off when dead. They were to stay there for a bit, and if the enemy were to begin making a play to get the card, give them the opportunity. If they didn't make a play, get there butt back to respawn. I personally observed several of my guys that were seperated by enough distance from our group for the enemy to try to get the card, but they never did. Of course some either just forgot about the card element of the game, or didn't care about it, but it was put in play by some.
