I just have to say this was a fairly good game. Thanks Ross for leading us, PLT 2, through a rag-tag mission attacking the fort in the middle of the game. (Even though we were wiped out...) That was awesome sneaking around in the bush trying not to be seen.

Thanks to whoever I was with during the end of the game when we were pushing towards the fort and getting shot by our own guys for giving me some great new insults to yell at people.
There was only one thing besides the usual not called hits that anoyed the crap out of me; the amount of people who did not acknowledge the color of camo each team had and were firing at their own team mates.

Good game, sorry I can't come out for the clean up effort but I have to stay home and watch the dog and the sister.

Yeah man speaking of which that was Infidel. Props man you had us damn good! I saw you from far away, but I thought you were Medhi since my mesh made your Multicam pants look like Tan and you were wearing from what it looked like a OD softshell (maybe it was MARPAT, not sure). Plus you did the smart thing of holding your gun up and giving me a friendly wave. Oh well, next time we'll have to be a little more careful, since like Wombat said if you had a couple more guys you could have really messed us up at Point 9.

Let me explain that situation:
I took 3 other guys to hike through the woods and give the rest of SOTA support at the orchard. Well I ended up by myself, lost as all shazaam, and it was either hike back another mile through forest and pain bushes or cross the stream. I ended up throwing my rifle across the stream and literally swimming across the stream as it was deep enough to fully submerge myself. My the time I dragged myself out of that muddy bog and up to that massive group of mehdi, my multicam was so wet and covered in bog-mud that it looked like woodland. I safety killed 2 mehdi guarding the sector, flipped the sector as i was a tech, and then safety killed another 7-8 mehdi that were standing around the in the group. The funniest thing was that the mehdi standing off to the side started firing into the larger group trying to kill me.

Dude. That is the definition of Epic. I thought those guys where referring to when I safety killed 7 guys guarding the Western side of the village but your story is much more Badass. Probs dude. Many props.

I just wanted to say that I had an absolute blast playing with all of you. P6, it was great meeting you sir! Enjoy your time with CA. Hopefully I'll get on that battleroster with you!

EDG - Great job, It is so much more fun when opponents are skilled and have good leadership. Very fun to fight against you!

Mehdi - For all those players without teams, you won this game by keeping egos at home and following orders. Absolutely outstanding teamwork and coordination.
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.

Everything the CO pointed out I agree 100%.

There were areas where my radios could not communicate with certain PL's, PSG', and even the Admin's, though I'm sure they were very busy running back forth from ACB's. Either switching to HAM radio as the Mehdi Command utilized very well or checking out MBITRS should fix that ;)

My biggest mistake this game was the Arm's deal market. It was staged at the chrono booth/barn and I chose not to purchase anything after the 4th time I was killed by the Mehdi players that re-spawned a good 40 feet away. My engineer squad was doing a good enough job killing the APC crew anyway.

Had I utilized the market place and played along with the mini games such as the side missions, dirty bombs then we may had a few more points at the end of the day, but not enough to recover from our spawns being split and losing control of ACB 6.

My honor mentions for LOW III are as followed:

PSC + J316 & JN:
You guys dug in and kept killing that APC without the help from market place rockets/rpgs/useless props. Coming prepared with good comms, superior fire power, professionalism, and discipline I could not let you guys lay in mud any longer. It was bad enough everyone had stayed for ~2 hours killing an APC and pockets of enemy troops in a well organized and ambush site. Your guys prevented what happened towards the end of the game where 2 APC's rolled up at our NE Orchard Spawn and open fired on a platoon of men. Your sacrifice was not in vain; it purchased time to regroup our platoons and was one of the biggest impacts through out the game. PSC, keep it up and hope to roll out with you guys again.

"Weasel" Squad:
These guys stepped up to be my PSD and runners. They were by my side till the last man. I apologize you guys could not see as much trigger time as 1st PLT did. The fire fights you guys were engaged in at the log fort surprised me; you were taking out teams that were doing basic infantry movement such as buddy team rushing and flanking. With a saw, DMR, and an Mp5, you have restored my hope in the youth generation of airsoft. Being good sportsmen, communicating well with me and your team mates, and most importantly calling your hits honorably and engaging enemies properly and not like a south-central/oakland gang banger makes you not only a leader in your age group, but airsofter's I see equal with those who've played and been with the community for years. I will not hesitate to have another "Weasel" Squad cover my back. You guys helped take the log fort by being that thorn the Mehdi could not take out from their side.

Chesty + Billdo + Phantom Fury:
I was a stuttering-Stanley since this was my first time holding leadership position and getting things organized. Your PLT did the best at keeping in touch with me and letting me know what was going on, where your efforts were, and being the spear that rolled Mehdi all the way back from the log fort to the center of the city (especially during times where P6 was at respawn). Phantom Fury should never be taken lightly and I believe you and Billdo have established that PF does not stay and shoot but rather advance and conquer. Thank you for being patient with a pseudo-new butter bar. I hope the men I've assigned to your Platoons took a good lesson from their experience in your platoon, for your squad leaders were very supportive and I will highly recommend them.

Pharaoh 6 + 7 and Staff:
Sir, being given the opportunity to be an XO has been one of the best and most eye-opening experience working at a macro level for airsoft. Seeing how leadership is run and that even losing, having that organization and order was extravagant. Everything you've done for this game from preparation to game-day has run without that many issues and executed perfectly by P7 and your staff.
It was not only your organization and leadership skills that were the high points of this game, rather the integration of new players, "Independents" that I believe helped the airsoft community grow, become accustomed with each other, and in my view, have a sense of camaraderie and unity at a place where new comers may have a hard time with those who have been here for a while. If I had to designate a win for EDG and on a personal level, I would say it is the maturity and knowledge of our various teams in the airsoft community who took leadership positions as PL's, PSG', Squad Leaders and Assistant-Squad Leaders. These men integrated new players and "Independent's" a like and displayed a sense of unity, team work, and good sportsmen ship.

To all EDG forces,
I am all very proud of you for sticking through the weather, hiccups throughout game play (especially at the beginning with the APC shootout), and the losses of ACB's. You all have won in a sense and displayed team work and functionality of leadership and efficiency of designated roles. Thank you for coming out and it has been a true honor serving with you all.

"5, out."

So close! If only we had just a couple more minutes I could have gotten that one back from you! Well played at the end there.

Infidel, I was probably the first or second one you safety killed in the group, and after hearing what you did to get there, you probably deserved to safety kill all of us, but alas you only got about half. Nicely done, mega props to you, the worst I had was up to my knees going around the back of point 3 to avoid the crossroads. If only you had known about the log crossing that we knew about over there ;).

Log bridge can't handle the Infidel. Wasn't 1337 special forces seal team 7 enough for me. Half drowning in bacteria-laden bog mud was more my style.

LOW III

Postby Deuce [TFW-AO6] » Mon Jun 20, 2011 12:37 am

Hey just throwing in a word or two for Weasel Squad.

Wild Weasel (myself): I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about our newly forming team. This was my first game running a M249 Para. I have never used a LMG, so yes I was a little cautious on the trigger until the last twenty minutes or so. So I gained valuable experience on the M249.

Cameron (kid with DPM camo, and MP5): learned that being small can be a blessing. He hid under those log fort platforms and was always the last man standing when we lost the fort. But he also got a sh*t load of kills off dumb Medhi coming through the door way, lol, funniest thing to watch and listen to when we were dead.

Cowboy (or Rudie- Team leader): Learned a lot about each of our play styles, himself, and made leaps and bounds as a leader. He showed me and the rest of us there that he has every thing needed to become a successful Weasel Squad leader. He still has room for growth like all of us, like all of us.

Ares M4: one of our primary assault men. I will stand by this f*cker any day and shoot those terrorists. hey Medhi any of you and the the flanking trail, your right, our left by the log fort. Him and I lit up a good number with my M249 and his CQB Field strength M4. We got hit, but I learned I can trust that he will not leave me and he learned that when shit hits the fan he has a LMG by his side.

Allesandro (Ares M4 little brother, Desert MARPAT kid): Not sure I can say any thing. This kid I trust..... But he was also on the wrong battle front for the rest of the game after he died the first time. Laughing my a$$ off on that one. Weasel Squad only saw him until he got shot, then 4 hours of nothing.

Over all great job guys on EDG too and Weasel Squad. I believe we grew a lot on Saturday, especially on communication, team unity, and why we fight the way we do. We are coming together nicely and will have one out of nine missing at Summer Slaughter. Weasel Squad will be in the house.

Hey thanks for the props man, you did a great job. I loved how you were willing to let me barrow that sweet M6 until I got shot while My box mag went down for that period of time. Even though that was your first time, you showed every attribute of a great leader in the making! selflessness, courage, will power, and the ability to step in and give up trigger time to make the clock keep on ticking. I am honored to have had my team watch your back and be your PSD or whatever you call it lol, we never knew our actual name. We will serve with you on any front any time. next time you need a crew, give me a shout and Weasel Squad will be there to answer the call. Call for a rematch and see if they can take the fort when we put cameron under that platform to guard the door except, I will give him the M249. Now lets see if we they can breach and clear that fort lmao!!!

Nasty wrote:Gotta give a shout out to Weasel squad. Despite the rule misunderstandings and irresponsible aggressiveness on the part of some of the Medhi, during our last stand at the log fort myself and Bigfoot saw them keep their cool, called their hits, follow admin directions, and talked to admins to clarify rules. Like 110 said, it's great to see some really young players show the level of maturity that they did.

I also want to thank the Medhi player who calmed down his teammates and called for a parley during the assault on the log fort. There were massive rule misunderstandings, including Medhi players tossing in unauthorized grenades and getting pissed when EDG weren't calling them (correctly, I might add), which resulted in some tempers flaring on the Medhi side. After we called a ceasefire and called in an admin to mediate, I was saddened to see someone (maybe a girl, I wasn't paying too close attention) in urban digital ask an admin if he/she could just storm inside the fort and shoot us, despite their weapon shooting too hot for CQC. When someone pointed that out to he/her, the response was "I don't f***ing care". I think this was also the person who was spouting off and telling everyone in earshot that EDG were "a bunch of pussies and fags". Anyway, before I rant more, there was an older Medhi player who took charge, and suggested a parley to the admin. After that, we all agreed to parley, and he proceeded to back Medhi off 50-60 feet before re-assaulting. I wish I knew who he was so I could thank him for cooling down tempers, discouraging dangerous gameplay, and taking charge during a massive misunderstanding on all parties.

Also, during the night game, I was very pleased to see how many people honored the safety kills. At one point, me and another guy emptied our pistols at eachother, somehow missed every shot, and decided on a mutual parley. He killed me during my second breeching attempt, but still, he was awesome about the parley. Nice to see people playing fair and safe, sometimes to their disadvantage.

Long story short; I saw poor sportsmanship on both sides, which can be expected with so many players and so many "+1's", but I was happy to see that there were still plenty of players on both sides that, when possible, went out of their way to discourage that behavior, and encourage good sportsmanship and safe play. To you guys, you're the ones that despite all the shitheads will still make games fun.

Overall, fun game. I loved holding down that intersection with Jew's MK46. Just wish that during the intersection the vehicles didn't try and hack though, but from what I've garnered that was a result of a misunderstanding of rules.

Don't worry about the girl your team's snipers took care of her, and the older Mehdi I believe was unfighter01. And I was part of the assault on the fort at first, and whenever i saw anyone not calling their hits I ordered my group to fire on them whether EDG of Mehdi. I hate bad sportsmanship.
