Technically you're right. It is about this specific game but it could apply to others. I still believe that even though this event has the potential you speak about it opens the door for reporters or media to come to other events which who knows how that could turn out. It could work out great but I'm going to remain pessimistic about the media & airsoft.

It's almost better the airsoft stay under the radar for many reasons. I believe the longer the media is not involved the longer it is allowed.

but maybe thats why its seen as not so good, if people start seeing the good it does - helping teens to do stuff other than be a crack head... making an event around giving to children... another event alex and I were talking about (which i wont mention until he thinks of all the details for it)...

if people are reminded constantly of the good that is intended (along with fun and BS) there wont be such a frown on it... and people will start to realize that there are sometimes just idiots that make it look bad...

i kinda agree...the longer were under the table.... the only thing the media is gonna see are jackasses shooting at people in there cars and other stupid stuff (they're/their/there whatever)

I think it would be appropriate to take a couple 'good' photographs - ones that we control the conditions they're taken under - if we ever need them for Public Relations reasons, we'll have them, and like Jesa said - if we give them a few photos, and perhaps a little write up on what we did (ie: pretty much the initial post here), along with all the toys . . . .

PLUS: This event is not about 'good publicity for airsoft' - if we get that, then bonus points to everyone. What it is about is helping out underprivilidged children, and having some fun doing it.

I dont think we need to discus the media situation any further, okay?

For the whole media thing - what should happen is someone take some pics (and if they end up lovely) when alex (and I assume I'll be with him) drop of the toys we'll let them know that they were collected by airsofters and blah blah... so instead of media being there and getting to be jackoffs they will only get the wonderous side and itll be a good light on airsoft.. thats if they hear about it at all... but at least toys for tots will know who collected them.

they would say tthat we were using superior firepower and uber terrorist skillz to steal the toys from the poor little children. then they would put up a hotline asking for information on the whereabouts of the "chrismas toy capers"
