There's mine... nothing incredibly good but...

What can I say, I was using a loaned camera :(

Not to sound like an a$$, but you shouldn't complain about the D40. It's a good camera, if you can't figure out how to use it, you differently shouldn't get a d300.

BTW, do you mind if I add your photos to the AP santa wars album?

Not to sound like an a$$, but he never complained about the camera, he's just not used to it. He's got experience and deserves more credit than I think you give him about his knowledge of cameras, and I think if you're used to professional cameras then going down to a D40 would be a stupid thing to do. So yes, he should differently get a D300.

Yeah, you're right, he can't get good shoots because he isn't used to it.

I shot a wedding recently,, with my camera and a D40 with little or no time to play with it. The photos came out fantastic.
I can pick up about any Canon or Nikon camera and use it like I've one for years.

Alijah, you normally shot with a canon 40D, am I correct?

Yes your photos are good too. No need to complain. ;)

I just want to note that the reason for my bitterness, I am just sick of people saying that they can't get as good photos, because "their camera isn't as good as mr. X" or shows up to an paid event with a lack of knowledge of their own gear. (yes, I can name a few people that I had to help. Oh gawd. )

Yours isn't exactly that cases stated above, but it reminds me of them.
And it wasn't a paid event, it's all good. Airsoft is actually GREAT practice!
I hope me and other skilled airsoft photogs can work side by side more often.

Santas War After Action Report

The Grand Army of the North, led by General Peppermint Patton met 6th Grinch Army on the banks of the Pepperminta River. With evil cunning and cruel laughter, the Grinch showed up to motivate the Grinchtruppen. He personally massacred hundreds of Santas Elves, but even that wasn't enough. With the Grinch Army within sight of the the Pepperminta River and Christmas Elf reginments being deicimated left and right, Peppermint Patton called upon his Bear Cavalry, which had been waiting as his Stratetic Reserive, to attack the flanks and save the day.

This halted the Grinches Advance on Santagrad, saving Christmas for this year. The Grinch has made impressive territorial gains in the North Pole - but not quite enough to steal christmas, but enough that next year's installment of Santas War will undoubtbably be an even more bitter struggle of good against evil.

------------------------------------

A huge thank-you to everyone who braved the cold and snow to defend (or attack) Christmas. We raised a mighty haul for under the Christmas Trees of Children everywhere, and enjoyed a pretty fun game. Appologys for having to end it early - increasing snow fall, hearing branches crack under the weight of snow, and concerns about road conditions prompted us to have to call it early (with the way the battle was raging, its unsure who would have won, if we hadn't called it early! This really was a close-fought battle!)

EDIT I'll have the photos I took uploaded tonight when I get home from work.

Once again - thank you to everyone who supported this event in any way shape or form. Grinch or Santa, you guys helped Save Christmas.

Jesa has the great idea of packing her car with toys first to protect them from any potential snow-damage, because she was leaving early, so it seemed that we didn't have as many toys as we really did.

regarding the number of toys: last year we had to get them over to the drop site ASAP so we didn't get to lay them out for pics so I dont know exactly what was collected.
I do know that my car and the 4-runner were both packed so I think last year we had the most

so basically

Year 1: Collected the least amount of toys but collected as of yet the most money
Year 2: Best year so far, most toys and just a little under the amount of money from the first year
Year 3: Lots of toys (as noted above, I'm not sure compared to last years but from my best judgment it's a tad less) and the least amount of money so far

In case anyone wants to know that didn't before all money collected from the raffle gets spent on more toys.

Next year will be better, I'm going to be working with Alex throughout the year so that it is more organized. There should be a tent (with a damn cover) next year - (I was not informed the cover to the tent was not in the bag ha!)

Alex works so hard on this each year so thank you to everyone that helped Alex with clean up or hauling after the game.

Its great that even with how shitty this year has seemed for so many that so much was still collected... You all are going to make some kids very happy this year :D
