and all I was saying is that by "increasing" the FPS limits within such a short playing distance will only create more injuries and will not increase the quality of games, it would make them worse.

and your right, if you are not okay with getting the occasional welt or bruise then airsoft is not for you. We all assume that risk by playing.

and as far as your example to sports, let's adjust it to what you were really saying..

Take a sport within the general confine of it's safety and then modify it let's say to a unsafer degree.

Hockey: How about less body protection gear and pucks that weight more.

Rugby: How about Metal spikes and play on a gravel field.

However it would never happen because even though they are contact sports there are safety rules put in place to protect the players to the best degree within the sport and it's effectiveness hence why the fps limits are where they are. Modifying it to a higher degree increases the risk and for something that we do as a hobby and not be paid I am sure changes everything.

Why end the rant?? Was there ever anything to rant about? You went off on this tangent in your first post for no apparent reason other than expressioning an opinion you had and which as most of us do here on AP, we will comment on it if we do not agree.

I removed my prior posts for several reasons. Firstly, because this definitely was not the proper forum to discuss my OPINIONS. Secondly, because I could not find any scientific research to back up my beliefs, and thirdly (and most importantly), because my word choice was, well, insulting would be putting it kindly. Maybe 'asshatish' would be a better fit.

I was wrong to post using the language that I did in this forum, for which I apologize to everyone here. And starting an argument about a mostly subjective issue without offering some form of objective testing criteria also makes me an idiot. Having made the internet cry, I deleted my posts, and will endevour to not do it again.

Warmest regards,
~Steve
