Matt,

Read the Handbook cover-to-cover. Just want to clarify whether I can wear sealed mesh goggles or if they have to be sealed clear goggles.

If I can't wear mesh, I'll just bow out of the competition. My issue...there isn't a pair of sealed goggles made that won't fog up on me.

Thanks, the comp looks awesome.

Have a great day.

I have a question regarding the 'Contact' kill.

Many groups use 'Contact' as a term to notify all the team members that hostiles or unknowns have been seen or engaged. Using the term 'contact' to also kill at point blank can (and has) lead to confusion in the past where a player intended to inform his team of a threat, but was scored as having killed an innocent that was nearby.

It seems to me that creating a new term for a point-blank kill might eliminate this situation.

I agree that the "CONTACT" kill method can be confused with enemy contact, but since we've used it for six previous competitions it's a little bit too confusing to change it this late in the game for CQC7. Besides, contact kills are supposed to be used from pointblank range or while your muzzle is touching the person you are contacting killing. If you are that close to the enemy, you would have already told your team that you had enemy contact. If you are further away, an actor won't confuse it with a kill. They are instructed to only honor contact kills from extremely close range.

I can work with keeping the same terminology.

The issue I ran into before was I came around a corner and an innocent was right near the door. The badguy was in the far corner. I called 'Contact'. and the scorer said I killed the innocent next to the door.

I wanted to throw this out there.

Please, try to look your best (tacticool)! Here are some VERY basic tips.

Wear black/tan/OD combat/tactical boots!
Wear your gear CORRECTLY
Wear similar BDUs, helmets, gloves and gear of your other team mates.
Wear your gear CORRECTLY
Avoid bright colors, you can temporary cover or remove your orange tips on your guns for this event, please.
Wear your gear CORRECTLY.
Ciche up that belt, if you have too.
If you are going to wear a calaclava make sure is a single hole. 3 holes will make you look terrible.
Make sure your hair is well groomed, if it is visible. (yes, I do see that, and it's sad).
Avoid helmets and other gear that looks like you got it at a ski or bicycle shop.

Wear your gear CORRECTLY

oh yeah, and please wear pants.

2 SPOTS OPEN
We had another team who couldn't make it out, unfortunately Dune Corps will not be joining us for CQC7. So there's no 2 slots available for registration if there are any new teams willing to step up and take on the challenge that is the CQC competition. Wombat 6 is currently trying to put together a pickup team. Of course, if there are teams currently seeking more stack members, there might be some takers on the Dune Corps side.

I just thought I'd help Fred out by saying just for a slight level of redundancy that everyone should consider
Wearing your gear CORRECTLY

REGISTRATION UPDATE
Looks like everybody's chances at the raffle just got better, unfortunately Battlesim is not going to be able to field a team for CQC7. If we keep 3 open slots before the competition starts, I'd like to know who might be willing to move their time slot so that we can only require our actors to be there for a half day. It would require 1 team to switch to Sunday, and the remaining teams on Saturday to move into the same slot (morning or afternoon)

We still have talks of a pickup team and some interest from local law enforcement to compete, so we may fill those extra slots but that's still preliminary.

Thanks guys!

LOOKING FOR MORE STACK MEMBERS?
Now is the time to find more people to help out if you need the extra stack members. With the few teams who couldn't find enough members for the minimum stack, there's plenty of lone operators out there who might be interested in linking up with an existing team. Remember - you'll need all the help you can get!
