Will there be at least some form of objectives for this or are we playing a la last weekend "ok, uhh, your guys over here, and uhh... you guys over there, now shoot each other"

Made telling teams apart a little difficult.

So even tho teams were seperated by camo. You need an objective to tell people apart? I'm sorry but, most games when I started were just 'go out and kill games'. Some of the most fun were that way. I figured we needed a break from all the Op bullshit. Guess I was wrong. Next time I'll put up a flag to capture, so you can tell who the enemy is. :?

No, people were NOT separated by camo. There were woodland and, OD, and british camo patterns on both teams. I can recall about half a dozen shootouts that started with "Wait, what team are you on?"

The more structure you put into an OP/skirmish/whatever, the more people will be inclined to follow the rules. When you set up a date and a locations and say "Go. Run. Shoot." you have people (like at this most recent Mac game) not calling hits and dead people giving away enemy locations as they walk back to respawn.

Please tell me there's going to be a skirmish SOMEWHERE this weekend. Please please please. I don't give a damn about structure. Last weekend was a good game. I just want to come out and shoot people this weekend.

Friendly fire happened in Iraq too. They shoulda required that the insurgents wear brighter towels on their heads.

Yup. Nobody said anything about calling hits, hit rules, or deadman rules at the game, there was no briefing. It's not hard to take 10 minutes before a game and preach to the kids about how the game works. Might sound stupid, but the human brain only remembers things when they're repeated over and over again. It's conditioning, call your hits or everyone will hate you, call your hits or everyone will hate you, call your hits or everyone will hate you, call your hits or you won't be invited back, call your hits or god will smite you with a lightning bolt, call your hits or you'll be raped by a band of horney apes.... Ok ya'll get the point.

teams were seperated. The 5 rac was all on one side with some of the Missed match camo guys. There was only one guy in woodland with them. The other team was almost all woodland and Marpat. Friendly fire happens, Ask Ryan.

So if people have uber important objectives they don'y cheat? I see..... they only cheat when there's no reason not to call your hit.

It was hard enough to get people on the field. Jeez... what was I thinking? Expecting people who play regularly to know the basic rules of airsoft. Hit = 'dead,, Go respawn, don't talk to 'living players'

Give kevin a break

Postby Starkist » Fri Dec 02, 2005 1:53 pm

Guys give kevin a break all he did was host a game and now is taking a bunch of shit. I'm sure that after this load of crap he's even more motivated to host another game.

I have an Idea.... If you don't like the senerios then set up and host your own game.

You'd be surprised.

Lighten up.

Here's one way to have an efficient "skirmish."

Drop the respawn. The average Airsoft game gets really lame after about an hour. Go with elimination instead, but limit the games to 45 mins to an hour so people who get shot only have to wait a little while. No time for the campers to completely bury themselves in dirt, and no time for people to get scattered and lost and start shooting at their own teammates. Nobody comes around behind after respawning to shoot you in the back, nobody points out live people when they're going to respawn... Because they're going to the deadpool, NOT the respawn point.

The game coordinator needs a whistle, when the whistle is blown it's game over and everyone comes back to regroup. You can pick new teams if needed, reload mags, and get all your shit together in less than 20 minutes and be back on the field (I've seen it happen). If people still aren't ready, they can be excluded from that round. Yes, this does require the person running the game to actually communicate with the players. Something along the lines of "LET'S GO!" works.

If you're one of those guys who can't stop flapping his jaw at the deadpool, well you can go get shot instantly and go back to the deadpool and talk your a$$ off with the other lame asses who didn't have their shit together in time to get in on the current game.

And some people have asked why I no longer bother to try hosting games. I got tired of people bitching and complaining about what should have happened - when they dont do anything for themselves. Now I just write scenarios, and save them for a rainy day when I am feeling like a glutton for punishment, or when i want to be a masochist.

Jim - remember in Re-Enacting how there were 10 people who DID, and 100 people who complained about what those ten people were doing but were unwilling to do anything for themselves?
