After 2 days this was great. I did enjoy the layout of the CQB but the highlight for me was the field portion.
Damn nice wooded areas. Of course it was a bit of a surprise to find out that I'd been given command of the South Korean forces but hell nothing a Dumb a$$ Tanker couldn't handle.
Mission 1 was for us to locate a special forces team and to defend Seoul against the North Korean attack.
We located the code book very quickly but I overthought the process of using it and after reading every page was given finally given the clue needed to make contact with the team. I then dispatched 2 of my shooters to link up and bring them in.
Which then allowed to turn my attention to my main focus which was the defending of Seoul. Which I have to give credit to the North team for their fine flanking maneuver and almost getting to the main objective. If not for the timely arrival of ODO and my reinforcements Seoul would have fallen.
My only critique of this mission was the use of the mobile medic/respawn points. The rule of their use needed to be a bit clearer. After the North dropped theirs right in shooting distance of ours it became a bit of a nuisance.
Mission 2 was the the taking of the Hill and an airborne drop zone located in the middle of a pasture.
ODO's team lead 'Newbie' and I came up with the idea of massing our forces hitting and securing the Hill before making our move on the drop zone.
We went straight up the hill with ODO flanking out to the left and I have to say this was the first time I've seen a plan actually come together. My team started taking fire but we continued to move up and secure the Hill and then out of nowhere ODO came out of the woods perfectly placed right into the open flank of the Northern team. It didn't take us long to secure the rest of the Hill.
We decided to stake our claim and lay out a defense of the hill and even with concerted counter attacks, we never got close to losing that point.
I have to thank ODO and my 'Koreans' for putting up a helluva fight and to the Northern Alliance for being great adversaries and playing with honor but most of all to the Praetorian Guard for putting on such a fantastic game.
I wish you guys all the best in the future and you'll be seeing my again.
Strength and honor! Salute!
