You are missing the point - the point was you shouldnt hold event immediately before or after holidays.

A lot of people are out of town for Thanksgiving (like me).

A lot of people are in town for the holidays. In fact, many people come home for the holidays. We were looking for 20 people to fill up the event - I can pretty much guarantee you we will have more then 20 people in on that Sunday with a regular game play day. So with only 8 people signed up we canceled the event. We would end up having more role players then participants.

One of the reasons that we have been scheduling events around holidays is a fair amount of people who are now in the Army or going to College have been asking us to hold events during their school breaks and leave. Those typically happen around holidays. Of course no one who has actually asked are signing up for any thing, so who knows. We try to listen to what people are asking for but it rarely works.

So we have one group who is asking for events around the holidays and not signing up and another group of people who don't want events around holidays and are not signing up either. In addition there are so many events happening, that no matter when we do something it will interfere with something else.

So, we will start hosting events in the Spring and see if that works. For the time being people are coming in to TacTac on a regular basis we just thought people wanted an event. No big deal, we enjoying hosting events more then running regular play so we'd rather do that but what ever works I guess. Winter is always a tough time for events.
