Siberian Dragoons: Sector Control Game - Merlin, March 9th

Postby Nox » Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:49 am

We will be hosting another sector control game at the 'Galice Field'.
Anyone that wants to join us for the game is to meet at the Rays Sentry Market in Merlin at 8AM on March 9th and we will convoy to the field from there at 9AM.
This game is open to any and all players that want to join us for a day of fun.
Bring everything you need for the day! There isn't a store close by, and it would be a half mile downhill walk, then a half mile 60 degree walk uphill to get back to get to the Galice store. (its STEEP)
This includes: toiletries, food, bb's, batteries, the whole enchilada.
We will have 4x4's able to get us all up there - it is advised that you have a 4x4 to get up to the field! We tried a van last time and it didn't turn out so hot and there is little room for turning a vehicle around.

RULES OF THE FIELD
All of this is common sense folks.
Safety:

*ALL players should have a red rag or some brightly colored item on their person to be used as a 'kill rag'. If you do NOT have a kill rag, hold your gun over your head until you have reached your respawn point and return to play.
If you do not, and get shot while walking back to your respawn, you have no room to complain. Shop towels or a strip of red material is the cheapest investment you can have in this game.

*All players when entering the field will have ANSI approved safety eyewear on at ALL TIMES. If you fog up while playing, put your dead rag over your head and sit in place until your glasses unfog. Alternatives for antifogging products are wiping a thin amount of hand soap on the inside of your lenses, this helps with fogging problems. Bar soap also works very well.

*Velocity rules:
400FPS MAXIMUM on AEG's and semi auto's (This includes gas).
550FPS MAXIMUM on bolt action sniper rifles.

The last thing anyone needs to do is get hurt in this location - the nearest medical assistance is a 1 hour drive. Check your guns at Rogue Military's chrono and make sure you are within velocity limits. This is an honor based game people, I am trusting you to do the right thing.
If I have a chrono on site it will be used, and folks with chrono limits at 406+ WILL NOT PLAY with that gun.
I'm serious - for me, this game is based as safety first. Period.

SAFETY KILLS:
30 foot safety kills for an AEG
60 foot safety kills for a bolt action rifle.
The following is an excerpt from Airsoft Pacific regarding safety kills:

"When you are too close in range to be comfortable taking a shot, you can call out "SAFETY KILL" on the player in your sights. Any clean shots with no cover under 30 feet are good candidates for safety kills. Do not call it unless the kill is already a given. Always honor safety kills when they are called on you just like honoring a "HIT". Safety kills can only be called on one individual at a time, not on entire groups. "SAFETY KILL" must be said loudly, as to simulate actually firing. Silence can only be maintained if you can tag the other player out. You must be able to point your replica and call "SAFETY KILL" on every person if there is more than one.

Bolt action Rifles:
Anyone acting as a sniper with an upgraded bolt action rifle over 400 fps (1.5j) should carry a sidearm that can be used alternately when engaging targets closer than about 60 feet. If you have no sidearm and find yourself too close to the opposing force, you may either a) call a safety kill, b) wait until they move to a safe range or c) relocate to a safe range. Do not fire at targets closer than 60 feet."

I hope to see everyone there!

You do realize you're trying to get people together 2 and a half hours earlier than most games, which don't ever start on time. And it's day light savings that day so everyone will already have lost an hour of sleep.

In Southern Oregon we ussually play at about 9:30am So it's not that bad to meet somewhere at 8. People have work in the afternoon, so everyone gets to play a little. Just go to bed earlier, 6 hours of sleep is good enough anyways.

Anyhoo Skip I'll be there around 8:30 am so don't leave me to guess where it's at. I'll see if Derek will lend the Fast Charger and was wondering If armbands are more adviseable since there probably won't be any ICU's out there. We are mostly green.

Skip, Your in charge, remember that. I don't want any Pirating going on

Thanks for the concern mrice, but like Mitch said we usually start here at around 9 - sometimes as early as 7 for those that are fully dedicated (my a$$ rolls out no earlier than 8 however)
I had not accounted for daylight savings, but if folks get there a little later, they get there a little later.
We might not be there...but they will have gotten their sleep. Since its a sunday game, people might go to bed early on saturday. *shrug*

Mitch - is Derek going to be out there? I was hoping he would be hawking some wares out at the field.
As far as armbands, I might be able to cook something up. I'll see what I can do.
